    The TED talks and Singularity U talks, DAVOS etc I've watched talk about what it will be like when our brains are connected to the cloud and we become cyborgs.

    We will each have a personal avatar projected from our brain which will tell us when to get up and when to go to be and what to eat and not eat and will provide us with counselling when we are sad etc.

    Ugh. :P

    I've seen science forum talks showing how they are already using these things.  When we "chat" with customer service or even talk to them on the phone we may be talking to an AI bot.  They test to see if people can tell they aren't talking to a human and can fool people pretty well now.

    Their voices sound more real than this one.

    AI is rock stupid. If I can't tell it from a human, then I've given up and started assuming that they hire total morons in their call center. Not saying I don't have a pretty low opinion of some of the morons at the low levels of their call centers...

    In other words, if "people can't tell the difference" they might just be accustomed to dealing with blind following of scripts, robot-like behavior, and STUPIDITY on the other end, when you have to call customer service. I know that's the case for me! I hate calling customer service.
