  • NEW YORK, Dec. 7 /U.S. Newswire/ --

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today urged European leaders to condemn an upcoming conference in Iran titled, "Review of the h0Ɩ0cαųst: Global Vision," in which the Iranian government will feature dozens of speakers questioning the historical fact of the h0Ɩ0cαųst.

"We believe this type of h0Ɩ0cαųst denial has no place in the family of nations, and that it is essential for European and world leaders to condemn this conference and everything it stands for at its core, which is anti-Semitism," said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL national director and a h0Ɩ0cαųst survivor.

"h0Ɩ0cαųst denial is an anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that posits that Jєωs, for their own selfish purposes, created a monstrous tale of their own destruction and deliberately inflicted the hoax on the entire world," added Foxman. "It presumes that Jєωs control the international media and all other forms of information, for how else could such a 'fantasy' flourish the way it has."

The conference, scheduled to take place next week in Tehran, follows on the heels of a cartoon contest sponsored by the Iranian government, in which cartoonists from around the world were given awards for drawings that mocked the h0Ɩ0cαųst and attacked Israel and Jєωs.

While Tehran has refused to release a list of participants, Bradley Smith, a U.S.-based h0Ɩ0cαųst denier, has boasted to supporters that at least 10 notorious h0Ɩ0cαųst deniers from around the world will present papers, including Robert Faurisson of France, Jurgen Graf of Switzerland, Michele Renouf of the U.K. and Ahmed Rami of Sweden. Mark Weber of the Institute for Historical Review, a major purveyor of h0Ɩ0cαųst denial materials based in California, has said that while he will not be attending, his organization is providing a video presentation to be shown to delegates.

In a letter to European leaders, ADL urged their governments and the European Union to publicly denounce the conference. "This conference seeks to question the record of the h0Ɩ0cαųst and is a disgrace to the memories of the six million Jєωs and others who died at the hands of the nαzιs," said the League's letter, whose recipients include Prime Minister Tony Blair of the United Kingdom, Prime Minister Romano Prodi of Italy, Chancellor Angela Merkel of Germany, President Jacques Chirac of France and Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen of Finland, who also serves as President of the European Union.

ADL praised U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan for his strong statement, issued today, condemning the Iranian h0Ɩ0cαųst conference and "any effort to question or deny the h0Ɩ0cαųst." Annan said that, ". . . any attempt to cast doubt on the reality of this unique and undeniable horror must be firmly resisted by all people of goodwill and of whatever faith."

  • They're not exactly idiots. They know how to manipulate people well. The majority of people are in their grip. The majority of US and European citizens cannot think critically, so they exploit that, using emotion. They know it isn't logical, but they know they can get away with it.

I don't think cartoons and making fun of them is in any way a good thing to do, but it is still a far cry from the really evil things they do.

I think the picture thing was after the episode of the drawing
of mohammed,I forget what country it was that did it.
Come to find out it was a Jєω behind it. Not only that the media portrays the muslims or arabs in an unfavorable light, basically as they have southerners in the U S for decades.
So really they are only doing what has been done to them.

Which two wrongs does not make a right. :judge:

I read a news brief on that upcoming meeting & the president of Iran was civil about what he said.
I will try to find it & post it here for you.

  • Iran To Host h0Ɩ0cαųst Conference
    TEHRAN, Iran, Sept. 3, 2006

(AP) Iran said Sunday it would sponsor a conference in the autumn questioning the extent of the h0Ɩ0cαųst, dismissing it as exaggerated, in a provocative move timed during a visit by U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan.

The decision came as Annan raised concerns with Iranian officials over an exhibition of cartoons about the h0Ɩ0cαųst in Iran's capital, Tehran. In critical comments, he stressed that the h0Ɩ0cαųst was "an undeniable historical fact."

Hard-line President Ahmoud Ahmadinejad has called the nαzιs' slaughter of 6 million Jєωs a myth and said Israel should be wiped off the map or moved to Germany or the United States. His remarks prompted a global outpouring of condemnation.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said both opponents and proponents of the existence of the h0Ɩ0cαųst could participate in the conference.
"God willing, a conference on the h0Ɩ0cαųst will be held in the autumn. The h0Ɩ0cαųst is not a sacred issue that one can't touch," he told reporters. "I have visited the nαzι camps in Eastern Europe. I think it is exaggerated."

Asefi did not disclose where the h0Ɩ0cαųst conference would be held, nor who would attend. Iran first raised the possibility of the conference in January.

Annan brought up the exhibit, which opened in response to Muslim outrage over the Prophet Muhammad caricatures, in talks Saturday with Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, said Annan's spokesman Ahmad Fawzi.
Annan told Mottaki "we should avoid anything that incites hatred" according to Fawzi.

The h0Ɩ0cαųst cartoon exhibit opened last month at Tehran's Caricature House, with 204 entries from Iran and abroad.
The cartoons were submitted after the exhibit's co-sponsor, the Hamshahri newspaper, said it wanted to test the West's tolerance for drawings about the nαzιs' mass murder of European Jєωs during World War II. The entries on display came from nations including United States, Indonesia and Turkey.

Annan on Sunday reiterated his displeasure over the exhibition and implicitly criticized Iran for its attitude to the h0Ɩ0cαųst.
"I think the tragedy of the h0Ɩ0cαųst is an undeniable historical fact and we should really accept that fact and teach people what happened in World War II and ensure it is never repeated," he told reporters after meeting Ahmadinejad.
Israel lashed out at the Iranian leadership for subscribing to what it termed "h0Ɩ0cαųst denial."

"This is not about the h0Ɩ0cαųst, this is about h0Ɩ0cαųst denial. In the past such h0Ɩ0cαųst denial was the prerogative of the neo-nαzιs and ultraright racists. It's surely a pity that we have a leadership representing a country in the family of nations has officially adopted these obscene ideas," said Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev.

Ahmadinejad has waged a campaign against Israel since he took office in August last year, with his inflammatory rhetoric deepening Tehran's international isolation.
Israel considers Iran a threat and has refused to rule out military force to destroy Iran's nuclear program. Iran has said its nuclear activities are intended only to generate electricity, but Western countries suspect the country is trying to build an atomic bomb.
"I have visited the nαzι camps in Eastern Europe. I think it is exaggerated." (Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi)

Here is Dr. Fredrick Toben's talk:

    http://adelaideinstitute.org/2006December/FT_talk.htm

Fredrick Töben informed the Islamic Republic of Iran President that Jєωιѕн Australians
are ready to take Töben to court after he returns home from Iran because they hate free
    expression on matters 'h0Ɩ0cαųst'.

    Dr Fredrick Töben's disclaimer

"I am operating under a Federal Court of Australia Gag Order that prohibits me from questioning/denying the three pillars on which the 'h0Ɩ0cαųst' story/legend/myth rests: 1. During World War II , Germany had an extermination policy against European Jєωry; 2. of which they killed six million; 3. using as a murder weapon homicidal gas chambers. It is almost impossible to discuss the 'h0Ɩ0cαųst' with such an imposed constraint. I therefore am merely reporting on matters that I am not permitted to state. For example, if I state the 'h0Ɩ0cαųst' is 1. a lie; 2. six million Jєωs never died, or 3. the gas chambers did not exist, then I would claim that I am merely reporting on what Professors Butz/Faurisson, et al, are stating in public.
Also, by definition, an Antisemite is someone who condemns Jєωs because they are Jєωs, something I reject in my maxim: "Don't blame the Jєωs, blame those that bend to their pressure", as illiustrated here.
