The money line:“We end this opinion where we began. Abortion presents a profound moral question. The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives," Justice Samuel Alito wrote in the court's opinion.
See, the problem with this ruling is precisely the corollary, namely, that the Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from PERMITTING abortion. This implicitly means that unborn human beings are not protected and covered by the Right to Life, and that implicitly means they still don't consider pre-born babies to be "life". This is tantamount to saying, "States can regulate whether or not they ban murder in general." States cannot write laws that are contrary to the Constitution, so in stating that they can make laws permitting abortion, pre-born babies don't have a Right to Life (and therefore Life) that's protected by the Constitution. This is a deeply flawed ruling.
Yeah, but babies will be safe in half the country, and that’s an improvement. My Hope is this will further polarize the country to the point that the lib states all secede from the country, in which case your wish could become reality.
That's my sentiment as well. Better to force all the baby-killers into their own socialist "utopias" than let them continue to curse our own states.
Nancy Peℓσѕι is on right now, throwing a fit and subdued in equal measure, possibly on the verge of tears.Better sorrow now, than sorrow five minutes after she dies.Deep down, she knows she's wrong. She'd have to know. She's fighting it with everything she's got.
