    On the 20th March 1920, Lord Mayor of Cork Tomás MacCurtain was murdered by the RIC at his home in Blackpool. Yesterday a Pipe Band Parade was held in Cork city. The parade paused outside the house and played a lament for this noble Irish patriot.

    The commemoration was held yesterday (19th March 2016) in Cork city. The New Mexico Police and Fire Pipe Band and the Amarillo Firefighters Pipe Band from the United States participated as did the Newmarket Pipe Band.
