The next day the news will be reporting the official story as if they had never heard the other side.

This is important because it is part of the desensitization and numbing process.  Sort of like when it is reported that Al Qaida No. 2 has been killed.  Just do a Google search for it -- there have been about ten thousand Al Qaida No. 2's by now.  They want you to know that the media is a bunch of fakes.  

Or maybe it is the truth after all.  Hey, I guess when you kill No. 2, then No. 3 takes his place.
