    U.S. federal appeals court issued a stay Saturday freezing the Biden administration’s efforts to require workers at U.S. companies with at least 100 employees to be vaccinated, citing “grave statutory and constitutional” issues with the rule. The ruling from the Fifth Circuit comes after 19 Republican-led states filed legal challenges against the new rule, which is set to take effect on Jan 4.

    • I'm still trying to figure out if this also applies to healthcare workers at hospitals, etc that provide healthcare to Medicare and Medicaid patients.  Every time it is reported I see no mention of them.  Although hospitals are very often >100 employees, I think this is different.

    I do believe there are separate provisions for both federal employees / contractors and healthcare workers.  Neither of those are being given test-out options.  OSHA stuff pertains only to non-healthcare-related and non-government-related entities.

    Yes, they are.  Apparently, a number of states are suing over the CMS/Healthcare one now.

    • So the judiciary is coming to our rescue?

    Um...by the time these "emergency halts" come into effect, all the affected individuals will be on unemployment, with new replacements already hired.

    In other words, "too little, too late".

    • Maybe all the local governments and corporations are onboard with this "mandate" because they can fire people and the fired lose their pensions? Pensions are a huge % of the monetary burden of local governments and unionized corporations.
