Owing to protests, they won't back a total ban on abortion
This is a country that survived nαzι occupation, endless tyranny, both World Wars and by the grace of God, defeated Communism. But it falls to heathens protesting the right to life? I guess Catholicism means nothing there now... Kyrie eleison
The politicians in the "Law and Justice" party are cowards, to be sure, since they caved-in to these protestors. But the protestors themselves are not cowards but apostates. So maybe it's more accurate to say that Poland is not full of cowards but of purely cultural Catholics and that the supposed Catholicism of that country is nothing but a smokescreen.
I think that considering it is a country of 40 million people, 90+% of whom are nominally Catholic, the very small number of traditional chapels is telling. The S.S.P.X has 10 chapels. I believe there is one I.B.P. chapel and then there is one sedevacantist chapel. And that's it. Proportionally, that is pathetic, even worse than France which most people would agree is a secular country (i.e. no one pretends that it is some Catholic stronghold). Contrast these numbers with Canada, which is a country of 30 million, mostly non-Catholic, and an openly liberal atheist nation. The S.S.P.X has something in the vicinity of 30-40 chapels depending on what you want to consider well-enough established to be a chapel.
And for the record I consider Canada a wasteland, spiritually (well, in many other ways as well so let's just call Canada a wasteland in general). So I don't point out Canada's numbers in any attempt to suggest Canada is great or even good. Just to show how bad things really are in Poland.
