  • Uh... no it won't. Over my dead body. I don't think they'd stoop that low (hiring an assassin).

I host CathInfo personally, and there is little or no expense involved. I run this website as a service to mankind (and the Truth).

I don't need anyone's permission to operate this site. It would take the government to shut me down.

Let it be known -- I have no thoughts whatsoever about paring down or closing CathInfo. I never will. If you see CathInfo go off the air, know that A) the Gov't did it, or B) someone killed me.

  • I have a mission for you (readers):

Can someone access those "disappeared" pages (using Google's cache) and post them here? That way, we can show the SSPX that if they won't proclaim and defend the truth, then there are people that will rise up to take their place.

God doesn't "need" the SSPX -- that's something Bishop Williamson taught me in the Seminary. Perhaps that's why he was sent to the hinterlands of Argentina?

If the SSPX abandons the truth, she will have no power and will fade into obscurity. God can raise up "from the very stones" men and women who will fight for the truth.

At the moment, (spoke the bishop several years ago) the SSPX is defending the Truth and the Catholic Faith. But if that changes, she will lose God's favor and protection.

    If that happens, Kyrie Eleison!

    In Christ,

    Matthew

  • UPDATE:

I have rescued all 5 of those articles (via Google Cache) and posted them on CathInfo for future generations.

As you probably know, CathInfo never "archives" or deletes posts, so people will be able to read this information for years to come.

  • This whole thing is a nightmare indeed. Although I can almost see where this sort of thing could happen quite easily. If Bishop Fellay was made to agree (as a condition of "moving forward") to obey in everything not contrary to faith and morals, or his priestly mission... I suppose defending Bishop Williamson's views on the h0Ɩ0cαųst's execution probably isn't terribly high on the list of morally vital things he's willing to fight tooth and nail about.

The thing I'm watching, is whether or not the SSPX betrays it's REAL mission... which is NOT to stand up for this kind of thing, but for the Faith and tradition. If the result is that tradition (and truths directly related to it) is freed totally and completely for all people everywhere, and the errors and REAL blights on truth (things against the Faith) are removed from catechisms and from the churches, and the Faith is restored... I can't say that I much care what everyone believes about everything else. As long as they stand up for the traditional faith, and turn the ship around, they've fulfilled their mission.

Of course other "traditionalist" groups have joined with Rome in the past, and piece by piece have either agreed to accept the new religion and the new mass, or have been made to say it themselves. Somehow, as scandalous as this whole episode may be to some people, I can't see the SSPX doing that. Or at least I cannot see any of the bishops doing that, even if some of the men under them fall into the snare. Secondly, the other groups are basically silenced... not about matters of the world, but matters of tradition, and the errors of the new religion. This is the other point of betrayal to watch for. Again, I cannot see Bishop Fellay putting on neon robes and smiling through the novus ordo. I cannot see him pretending that the new religion is all right. If the situation he finds himself in amounts to his being silenced, and the true Catholic Faith being smothered, I think he would quickly go right back where he was before, before he would just lay down and shut up, and let tradition go out with a whimper... or worse yet, without even a whimper.

There are, obviously, very real dangers, and very real betrayals in situations like this. But I think people are missing that THESE are the points (the mass, the truth about Catholic doctrine, and what's wrong with the new stuff) that really matter. If they could never give one talk, write one letter or say in one sermon anything about the h0Ɩ0cαųst again, I wouldn't care, so long as they continue to fight for the recognition that the Church has been filled with a deadly anti-religion, and that it's high time that it's fixed. When I see them saying novus ordo masses, and no longer speaking out about what is wrong with the Church, THEN I would have reason to think they had truly betrayed. For now, I'm writing this cheap tabloid scandal stuff off as a tactical necessity to win the real war.

If Rome gets to matters of dogma and faith and finds that these men don't budge, I think it will be proven that people have, because of this ridiculous episode, grossly underestimated what kind of men these bishops are.

I just hope people keep up that perpetual Rosary crusade. It may well amount to the sword and shield of the truth in this mess. With it, things may end up surprising everyone (for the better). Without it, who knows how many will really and truly fall.

I renounce any and all of my former views against what the Church through Pope Leo XIII said, "This, then, is the teaching of the Catholic Church ...no one of the several forms of government is in itself condemned, inasmuch as none of them contains anythi

  • Chant, I did not realize that you were in seminary with Bipshop Williamson. I knew of the Seminary, but what a blessing to have been that close to the man I have always admired.

  • Dulcamara --

Do you see the difference between what happened to +W a couple weeks ago, and what happened yesterday?

Before, it was a Bishop saying allegedly "imprudent" things about a historical event (albeit an important and earth-moving one) and brought a firestorm of controversy upon the Society, which many believe forced +Fellay to act.

No problem, right? It's just a historical event, and that's outside the scope of the SSPX's mission.

However, now we're talking about TRUTH about the Jєωs -- their covenant, their religion, the Good Friday prayer, an article by the learned and holy priest Fr. Fahey about the Jєωs, etc.

+Fellay has taken yet ANOTHER step backward, as the bullies pursue their gains and increase in boldness. The SSPX has sliced a chunk of flesh off themselves, as it were. They will teach the truth about the Faith -- except where the Jєωs are concerned (note I didn't say h0Ɩ0cαųst -- but the whole topic of the Old Covenant, etc.)

Sorry, that's not good enough. The world needs to know the truth about "the Jєωs and Deicide", "The Good Friday prayer", "Pius XII and the Jєωs", etc.

The SSPX ...is compromising! And not in a small matter, either. I never thought I'd live to see the day.

    Where will it end?

Please feel free to do so --

I was thinking the same thing myself. What if they start downplaying anti-modernist articles, or those which tend to criticize the Vatican (such as the article on Assisi)?

That might be "3 or 4 steps" further on down the slippery slope -- but in the future nonetheless.

  • Matthew,

I have hardly read about these things lately, but see that your take is very balanced.  This is not an easy thing to accomplish in these days, and for what it is worth, I commend you.  Sadly, many men who have been taken as valiant defenders for years are now showing their true colors.  God help us all, as our list of allies grows thin.

Quickly before "they" modify or delete his letters we should try to copy and paste them on this website as soon as possible.

Which article? What are you guys talking about? This thread looks like it starts in the middle of a discussion that I can't find the beginning of.
