  • Too often I see people who are living in sin love to retort against Catholics and Christians that only Christ can judge.

It's almost a permission slip for them to continue to live their sin. What would be the best way to reply to this?

  • I would tell them that they can be assured that Christ WILL judge, and that we're just trying to warn them beforehand that they will be judged.  Christ condemned certain behavior as objectively evil and as excluding from salvation, so He will judge.  We're just trying to remind them of these behaviors upon which they will be judged.  Certainly, at the end of the day, only God knows the DEGREE of culpability of each individual for any particular sin, but that doesn't mean there aren't objective standards against which each individual will be judged.

  • If you make a reply, and if they answer back with, "you can't judge me", you may say, Christ said, "You will know them by their fruits".  You are to judge what you see.  Just as you judge to buy items.  Some people are just testing you as they did Christ.  A lady I worked with, told me that her son has his girlfriend living with her in her home and what did I think of that.  (she was a new order catholic) I replied, you mean what do I think of fornication?  She did not reply.  Don't find yourself silent, for the world would just love for us to be gagged.  sɛҳuąƖly transmitted diseases do not make the news in way or form, but they are epidemic with teens and people are dying from cancers at younger ages!  My husband works at a hospital and they know! they see it! Even the very old!  I do believe Our Lady was known for saying that people are going to hell like snowflakes that fall from the sky.  Many prayers for these ignorant people.

Usually when people reveal these sins, they are looking for approval and ease for their conscience, otherwise they would not utter a word.

There are people that do judge in such a way that is wrong, it is sad that those people are mistaken for those who would correct and guide in charity and truth.

And don't be afraid. Christ will judge them.

There is a difference between judging and discerning.

When the Bible itself says it is a sin.

It seems foolish to say that we are not to "judge" ones actions when Jesus right after he says "Judge not..." goes on for a paragraph on how we are to confront sinners.

Saint Paul himself tells us not to associate with the sɛҳuąƖly immoral- how do we follow that instruction without discerning ? When someone is doing the wrong thing and they say you cannot judge they are taking the quote out of context and know nothing about the Bible.
