(By the way, I censor out that term on CathInfo because it's so inaccurate and stupid)
SSPX-supporting Catholics -- traditional Catholics -- should not be called Lefebvr-ist or Lefebvr-ite because we never went after some man with new doctrine.
Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre was a faithful prelate of the Catholic Church -- nothing more, nothing less. He is only remarkable because he remained faithful during a mass apostasy.
Rome (as a whole) lost the Faith. +Lefebvre and a small remnant kept it.
Moreover, we don't follow him in some kind of cult of personality. He went on to his reward in 1991. This is 2012. If it was just some charismatic cult leader, the SSPX would be long gone. Instead, it has experienced massive growth during the 90's and 00's, as more and more Catholics are striving for true Catholic doctrine, sacraments, and Catholic culture.
I'll tell you what -- the SSPX can't be a cult; I'm only supporting the group because I agree with their position and mission. I certainly wouldn't follow +Fellay to hell and back!
