Why do some trads seem to promote Divine Mercy?

Wouldn't it being condemned by the Holy Office several times be enough of an indicator that self-professed Trads should avoid it? Along with it being prominent in the Novus Ordo?

On Sunday, it's Divine Mercy. On Tuesday, it's "St. John Paul II pray for us" and on Friday it's "Vatican II was a renewal in the church!"

We should be avoiding things like this if we call ourselves trads, tbh.

Some trads are Polish. The prayers don't seem harmful. It is claimed that initially the Holy Office got a poor translation of it, that Sr Faustina did not use punctuation, even after severe editing, t seems a bit odd. It should, of course, be avoided for it seems like a counterfeit Sacred Heart.

I must chime in once again --

Many years ago, I knew 2 Trads that prayed the "Divine Mercy" prayers after Mass, as part of their Communion thanksgiving.

A forty year old woman with 8 kids, and a young single man about 22 years old.

They ended up committing adultery with each other. I wonder if the emphasis on God's mercy pushed them over the edge, to allow them to commit such a sin?

If they had been meditating on the Passion, the Sacred Heart of Jesus (wounded for our sins) -- maybe it wouldn't have happened? Who knows.

Second example: an otherwise conservative group in the local area, "The Mission of Divine Mercy". They promoted John Paul II and Medjugorje. Oh, and their 1 hour Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament began to be corrupted by "speaking in tongues". I have this from first-hand reports.

All I know is -- there is no good fruit from this novel, UN-traditional devotion, calculated to overwrite true devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Would I go so far as to say it's demonic? Maybe.

I can't say I've ever seen a traditional Catholic promote the "Divine Mercy".  I've only seen self-professed "conservatives" and people who just like the "smells and bells" of tradition promote the chaplet.

That's correct.

Why do some trads promote Divine Mercy? Answer: Because they are not really trads.
