Which Book Best Describes the Crisis?
« on: May 10, 2024, 01:12:47 PM »
Just curious what others think for books which best describe The Crisis.  My favorite is Against the Heresies by Lefebvre as it goes point-by-point through the errors and shows how they've all been embraced.  Any other good ones?

I'm really enjoying Vol 1 of the Letters from the Rector: Ridgefield Letters by Bishop Williamson. It is a collection of monthly updates of what's going on in the 1980's. There are plenty of important bits of information regarding the crisis in it. I like the mention of trads having a siege mentality which causes a lack of outgoing charity. I think the siege mentality is still prominent today unfortunately. I think this book is an important, but secondary read for anyone studying the crisis.

I remember reading the volume from when +Fellay became the Superior General and +Williamson noted that that went against the Statutes of the Society - that one of the bishops be the Superior General.  He figured it would be fine but, unfortunately, history shows this hasn't been the case.  Interesting reads from those days.
