  • Maybe if everyone argues long enough about sedevacantism & the New Mass we'll get an answer.

  • I believe the current pope really means well, no one on earth can prove otherwise.

The NO Rite has proven itself to be non anti-Catholic, it is a bit amazing to me that after 60 years of it and the destruction caused by it that so many still don't get that.

What I was getting at, poster Hermes picked up right away, as he said:
"Yes, I understand your perspective quite well. You are approaching this topic from an R&R mindset implicitly criticizing both the conservative Novus Ordo & Sedevacantist perspectives on ecclesiology".

IOW, if the pope is divinely protected and cannot promulgate a harmful Rite, if this is a dogma or doctrine of the Church as so many believe, it isn't, but if it were, then the NO rite is infallibly safe.
But Trent literally says this. That the Rites of the Church cannot be harmful.

    Is this like Where's Waldo?

Perhaps a conclave is in the process of electing him pope.

I am not sure what you are talking about, is it this canon?

CANON XIII.-If any one saith, that the received and approved rites of the Catholic Church, wont to be used in the solemn administration of the sacraments, may be contemned, or without sin be omitted at pleasure by the ministers, or be changed, by every pastor of the churches, into other new ones; let him be anathema.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse

Well, Trent refers specifically to "the received and approved rites of the Catholic Church" no? Which is to say Trent is referring to Rites where both conditions (received and approved) are met. The NO was not received, only (putatively) approved - the sedes don't even give it that since they had no pope to even approve it. Which is to say the NO is excluded from this canon.

A white Papal limo has been spotted in Ladislaus’s driveway.

    One of his safe houses?
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi
