  • I don't want to be mean to R&R's, but in this post think of it in Political Terms and that Sedevacantism is assumed.

Some people believe that Francis is the Novus Ordo Kingmaker, and has the ability  to nominate say 40% of the College of Cardinals and obviously if he lived to be very old more...
So if he consistently nominated Cardinal Kasper level Heretics to these positions its not beyond the pale for me to see Womyn Bishops in the Novus Ordo, and claimed Apostolic Succession for the Jєωs and Muslims 20 years down the road if that happens.
This leads to the question of what is the future of the +Fellay lead SSPX in such a situation? Despite how much he wanted reunion he still couldn't reunite with a Genuine Modernist now, and certainly not with a Pope Hans Kung later.
Also keep in mind that the SSPX would still be gutted of any dissent so what ever he says still would go.
Could he be humble enough to declare Sedevacantism?
If so how would the various +Thuc societies and the SSPX treat each other?

Also in said future what would happen to the Priestly Union of Marcel Lefebvre, SSPV, and Indults (Some of them are scared to death by Francis right now).

Sorry if this post leaves little to Faith, and alot to inter-Trad politics.

  • Francis is an old man.  He isn't going to get much more modernist than he is now.

As for Bishop Fellay's reaction?  Well I am sure reading some historical posts on this and other forums will confirm the near hysteria over a deal with Rome and "being betrayed" and "sold down the river" and how his "cardinals hat was only a few months away".

A deal in fact that never happened and can't even have been said to have fallen at the final hurdle, (more like the first)

So to me at least it appears rather pointless speculating given how wrong people have been in the past.

  • The same +Fellay that bellowed that Francis was a "genuine Modernist" and then backtracked that he was "misunderstood"?

For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

    If???   :laugh1:

And what's with the future tense?  What makes the things you suggest more "crazy Modernist" that what he already is?

What will happen?  Anti-sedevacantists, which include Bishop Fellay, will do what they always do--move the "red line" and either claim he's not "acting infallibly" or say what he did is merely "disciplinary":  The former for appointments; the latter for women's ordination.  And it won't matter whether this is under Bergoglio or his successor to the anti-papacy.
