What hapened to Pope John Paul I, I heard he was poisoned because he was fervently in favour of consecrating Russia, and his enemies were linked to the Club of Rome etc..

Supposedly he tried to remove Freemasons from the Vatican and a Freemasonic Cardinal poisoned his wine. JPI was, however, a bit modernist and apparently accepted the New Mass.

Because, as I said above, he was still a modernist. I'd also imagine he wasn't aware that John XXIII and Paul VI were likely Masons.

Another thing that JP 1 tried to do was reform the Vatican Bank.  There is a book called "In Gods Name"  which tallks about his life and his desire to reform the Vatican Bank.
