Traditional? They're part of the Conciliar Sect of Antichrist.

    Quote from: fairfieldcarmelites.org
Completely in communion with the Roman Catholic Church and under the approval of the diocesan Bishop of Harrísburg

Welcome Crobar. You make a great point. As you have already noticed, some here are so puffed up with pride they get an emotional boost out of looking down on others. This includes trads looking down with venom on those in the N.O., trads hating other trads because they are or are not sedes, hateful mud-slinging over details which will be unimportant to us when we stand before God to be judged.

I myself am a sinner saved by the grace of God. I thank Him every day for bringing me to the fullness of the Faith and the TLM. I don't understand looking down on others who have not yet been so blessed. We are all works in progress and each of us must work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

And the greatest of these is Charity.
Pray for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

  • I spoke to a former nun of PCPA (she was there in the late 2000's for two years). She told me Father's take on the poor-clare's of perpetual adoration is not accurate. There is much more to the story.

This is what she told me:

    "
    • Mother Angelica held the position of Mother Superior far longer than she ever should have. The PCPA constitutions state specifically that the Superior must be able to perform her responsibilities. After her big stroke, she couldn’t speak and lost most of her motor skills. The sisters should have been required to elect a new superior. But Mother Angelica was so charismatic and had accomplished so much for the order, and had so many mystical experiences that she had grown a bit of a cult following even among the nuns of her monastery. The older sisters couldn’t bear and wouldn’t allow anyone to be elected superior except Mother Angelica while she lived.
Sr Catherine had been elected Mother Vicar for several terms, during which time she was also expected to fill the role and responsibilities of Superior (but without the title). During the elections held around 2005-2008 (maybe beginning earlier too, I am not sure), Sr Catherine was also elected Novice Mistress. That’s right...three roles, which are supposed to be held by three different nuns, were being fulfilled by one. This was a violation of the constitutions on more than one account. Sr Catherine did not want to accept so many roles, but the other older sisters refused to elect anyone else.
    • So, a single nun is forming all of the new postulants and novices for several years and being over burdened by all the responsibilities of the full authority in the monastery. Sr Catherine barely slept, and the only time she could take her daily holy hour of adoration was in the middle of the night when all the other nuns slept.
    • During these years, Sr Catherine DID work to return the activities of the nuns to strictly follow the constitutions in all other regards. Among one of the changes she made was that the nuns were to remain in their cloister and have no interactions with the public. This was a particularly sore subject for the older nuns, who had grown to love interacting with people who were associated with EWTN and general public. They also loved Mother Angelica so deeply that they disapproved of doing anything in any way other than the way Mother Angelica had done it. So around late 2008 and early 2009, the older sisters had had enough with Sr Catherine’s ways, and the chapter finally elected a new Vicar, Sr Margaret Mary, who took on all three roles. Sr Margaret Mary sought to undo a lot of what Sr Catherine had done. As you can imagine, this created a strong divide among the nuns. Novices began to leave, not having the spiritual abilities to handle such turmoil. Horrible things were said about nuns who leave. The divides grew stronger. The words and deeds between nuns became more and more vicious. This went on for months.
    • At night, some of the solemn professed nuns began calling the Vatican. The junior professed nuns had begun to leave. The Solemns felt that the only way to help the situation was with outside intervention, and they begged the Vatican for it.
    • The results of the Visitation were many. Sr Catherine and Sr Margaret Mary were forbidden from ever being a superior in any order ever again; one was sent to live in monastery in Italy and the other in Montana. A superior was chosen from outside the order to restore the execution of the constitutions in the daily life of these PCPA. She was a Benedictine superior and she was there for three years, after which, the nuns were to hold chapter and elect their own superior, vicar, novice mistress, etc. The Phoenix and San Antonio foundations were also visited, but their foundations suffered no direct consequences of the visitation that I know of. A lot of the junior professed sisters could not withstand the turmoil and left. There were even some solemn professed nuns who left. But this wasn’t because of a turn from Tradition. It was because it became clear to these nuns that Mother Angelica didn’t do everything perfectly AND their own vocations were often completely dependent on Mother Angelica telling them, “you have to stay, you have a vocation.” They thought she was a living saint, so they did what she said, even when they weren’t sure. Then after all this, they thought to themselves, “maybe I don’t actually have a vocation!” They got dispensations from their vows and left.

There are these puffed up guys while you are saved by the grace of God?

A protestant who converts to the Church has to renounce his heretical beliefs. Not difference for followers of the Concilar Sect. They're heretics and/or members of a heretical sect. It isn't charity to lie, and to act as if they weren't heretics.

Haven't time to read your quote right now but....
Poor Clares are not Carmelite. They are Franciscan. Father is talking about Carmelites.

  • Yes, you are right. He does mention visitations to PCPA, but it is hardly the subject of this video. His subject is much more disturbing than any thing which happened with PCPA. He is speaking out on behalf of these Carmelites who are in grave danger, as it this priest. May God preserve them. We need them so badly.

  • At about the 37:30 minute mark in the OP video, Fr. Dean says that...."It took us over 40 years to have our own seminary. All their own professors to be accredited through Opus Dei."

Accredited through Opus Dei? That sends up a bit of a red flag. Opus Dei people tend to be loyal to the pope, even a Modernist Pope. I assume that the previous prior for the FFI, Fr. Stephen Mannelli, was aware of and approved that his seminary professors were accredited through Opus Dei. Yikes.
"It is licit to resist a Sovereign Pontiff who is trying to destroy the Church. I say it is licit to resist him in not following his orders and in preventing the execution of his will. It is not licit to Judge him, to punish him, or to depose him, for these are acts proper to a superior."

    De Romano Pontifice, Lib.II, c.29

Not only that, but Opus Dei hate tradition. It makes me wonder at the naivety and gullibility of these Friars of the Immaculate. And the deceit and insidiousness of Opus Dei.
