What's up with Fr Jenkins?

  • A couple of videos ago, in the "What Catholics Believe" podcast, Fr Jenkins referred to Bishop Sanborn as "Father Sanborn". Fr Jenkins said the same about Bishop Dolan a while ago. I believe these are both Thuc consecrated Bishops either one or 2 generations from the source.
    Is Father Jenkins still SSPV and if so, who are their Bishops and are they of the Thuc or Lefebvre line?
    Are all Thuc Bishops suspect or are only certain lines suspect?

    SSPV are still associated with Bishop Kelly's group (Congregation of St. Pius V), so they would use the +Mendez->+Kelly line for episcopal functions (confirmations, holy oils, priestly ordinations).

    Some +Thuc lines are suspect either because there's no proof or because it's hard to determine whether the bishop was competent to confer episcopal consecration.  It became fashionable to claim episcopal consecration by +Thuc.

    Both the +Sanborn and +Dolan lines are very solid.

    +Thuc -> +Guerards des Lauriers -> +McKenna -> +Sanborn

    +Thuc -> +Carmona -> +Pivarunas -> +Dolan

    SSPV have long impugned the validity of all +Thuc consecrations ... which is absurd.

  • Fr. Jenkins calls +Williamson "Father" on the latest WCB video, starting at around 36:00.
    After explaining Viganò s doubtful consecration, he continues to call him "Archbishop" Viganò.  He even states that Viganò went to "Fr. Williamson" for conditional consecration.:confused:

    I hope Fr. Jenkins is okay!

    Father Williamson? Does Fr Jenkins not consider Episcopal consecration by Archbishop Lefebvre valid?
    Wasn't Fr Jenkins ordained by Archbishop Lefebvre? Does that mean he doesn't consider himself a priest, either?
    At this point Fr Jenkins is looking a bit foolish.

  • Mental decline?  I hope not. It may mean nothing.  We tend to refer to people as we knew them when we were last spending much time with them.  Fr. Jenkins doesn’t show any other signs of dementia, so it may mean nothing.

  • The "Father Williamson" fiasco seems to be connected to the (at least at one time) practice of the SSPV conditionally confirming anyone that received Confirmation from Bp. Williamson, because Bp. Williamson was supposedly ordained to the priesthood with one hand.

    However, that still doesn't make a lot of sense, because Fr. Jenkins should then refer to Bp. Williamson as just "Mr. Williamson", if he believes the one handed ordination to be invalid.

    Ultimately, this goes to Fr. Jenkin's rejection of "The Thucs" and his refusal to called Bps. Dolan and Sanborn bishops... and is now bleeding over into how he refers to Bp Williamson.

    Fr. Jenkins really needs to give this up.  It is tiring, petty, and childish.

    There was a guy at STAS in the late 1980s who referred to these things as "ecclesiastical pissing contests", essentially territorial dog fights. In other words:  $$$

    ...
    Given that F. Jenkins once invited Bishop Williamson to do confirmations at Father's parish in Ohio (which the bishop did go and do confirmations), it is not likely that Father thinks Bishop Williamson is not a Bishop, so it appears Father saying "Fr. Williamson" is a slip-up.

  • I'll try to contact them.

    ETA: Just sent an email via their website.  Maybe they will answer it in the next WCB episode.

    These videos are edited- or at least they are capable of being edited. If it was a slip -up , Fr Jenkins  could have had the mistake taken out . But he didn’t .

  • So, the relationship between Bishop Kelly and Father Jenkins is a bit of a mystery.  They're aligned on nearly everything, and generally work together, but they've also had some disagreements here or there.  I know that Bishop Kelly was at one point conditionally confirming those who had been confirmed by Bishop Williamson, and Fr. Jenkins was sending people to Roundtop to be confirmed ... but it's possible that Fr. Jenkins quietly disagrees with the notion that Bishop Williamson isn't a valid priest (and therefore bishop).  There was one incident where nuns from Bishop Kelly's group just up and left from teaching at Fr. Jenkins' school over some disagreement, the details of which I am not privy to.

    I was hearing a past talk on this from Restoration Radio. A sad situation, but it was one of three, Bp. Sanborn, Bp. Dolan, or Fr. Cekada who said that Bp. Kelly had had experience with mind control and manipulation training in his past military service.
