  • Let’s have a serious discussion on this prelate.
“The good God does not need years to accomplish His work of Love in a soul; one ray from His Heart can, in an instant, make His flower bloom for eternity.”

  • Fr. Cekada's book 'Work of Human Hands' (a great read) covers Bugnini's involvement as the Secretary in the group that started overhauling the liturgy way back in 1948.  He was demoted and reinstated under Paul VI and finally exiled to some remote post after it was found he was - gasp - a Freemason (who knew?!?!).

It's interesting that the New Order Bastardo Mass didn't just 'arrive' on the scene in the 1960's.  It was the result of 20 years of dedicated work by liberals and at least one Freemason.

Did I forget to include the six Protestant 'observers'?  Looks like it.

Iran, while regrettably having a fairly low percentage of its people being Catholics, is not exactly a "remote post".  Tehran is a somewhat handsome city of over 8 million people in a country of 86 million.  If Iran were thoroughly Christianized and could improve its economy, it wouldn't be a half-bad place.  IOW, it's not the Central African Republic or Laos.

That said, though, Bugnini being sent there didn't have a good look, especially with the high post he had previously occupied.  Quite a demotion.

Simple, you must realise that anywhere not USA is remote! ;)

How about Roncalli , appointed Apostolic Delegate to Turkey and Greece. He became known in Turkey's predominantly Muslim society as "the Turcophile Pope". It was in Turkey where he was initiated. Can't remember the details.

Here he is at St Anthony's Church (?Cathedral) in Instanbul.
