It's a miracle I was baptized. I had to go to one of these events as a condition of the catechism class. I ran out of there like my head was on fire.

Besides, if I wanted to be smacked on the head, and swoon in a room full of naive people then I would have joined the pentecostal church. Besides, the Holy Spirit goes where it wants, when it wants and NO ONE knows when it comes or where it goes. You cannot COMMAND the Holy Spirit or boss it around like these misguided people think they can.

Speaking in tongues is having the gift of being able to communicate to people in languages you don't know. Its not about speaking gibberish.

If you ask me, personally, I think it is blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Its borderline evil and I want nothing to do with it.

Its a miracle I was baptized in the Catholic Church. A miracle.

true and note how he/she make a big deal how fast/large the movement has grown, as if that makes it ok and again, a shade of protestant mega church mind set....God all through church history and in bible,etc works through dedicated and simple minorities, not mega majorities...
this guy/gal is full of crap and not even Catholic, but clinging to the counterfeit church...

Leisa, me too, when I was taking confirmation classes, I had to go to some sort of "fire rally", by some priest-Bardalucci or something like that......complete Pentacostal BS

How well I remember when the charismatic movement first appeared in Catholic circles, and I tried to see in it what everyone else did. It caught on rapidly and quite well. Seems to have filled the vacuum caused by the downplaying of Our Lady and Marian devotions, the absence of Benediction and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament...Catholics were starving. Then this nonsense showed up. I could never see in it what others did. After two or three attempts, I just walked away and never went back. That was about 36 years ago.
