Title: Vatileaks scandal?
Post by: theology101 on May 25, 2012, 11:27:29 PM
I looked for a thread on this (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-18216766), but haven't seen one. I've not heard of this alleged leak of personal letters and docuмents stolen from Benedict XI's desk. It alleges "highly embarrassing" proof of corruption and conflict within the Church. Thoughts?

Following your link provides very sketchy coverage.

What are the leaks, really?

Is this the accused butler, in front of Benedict?

Well, by all means he looks very suspicious.

... wait, actually both do!  :scratchchin:

My thoughts are about how unreliable major news outlets are, so we get some bit.  I would love to know what the real story is, because I have always loved mysteries.

If anyone had good information about The Butler, how he got so close to the Vatican inner circle, we could perhaps speculate.  It's going to be one of those frustrating mysteries that we will never know the truth of, IMO.

Like the Swiss Guard murders.

The story is all over the web now, should be more facts. That is the butler. The leaks are personal letters of Benedict's "highly embarrassing" letters that allegedly prove massive corruption and conflict within the Church. (One example given in the linked article was the awarding of Vatican contracts to businesses based on sketchy deals or something). Conflict in the Church- well, we all know what that's about probably, but could be more than the SSPX-VII conflict. I know there are NO priests and bishops the world over who are opposed to VII and to the Jєωιѕн and Communist, Masonic infiltration of our Church. Anyways, like I said, the story is everywhere now (I guess I stumbled onto the breaking story) and should be more info on teh googles.

Those are Roman pine trees in the background, and in front of that are the statues on the facade of St. Peter's Square at the Vatican. I can identify those things. But I have no idea to whom the smug face belongs, in the foreground.

If he's the butler, what in the world is he doing riding with the Pope through St. Peter's square? Isn't that a place for a security guard or something like that?
