  • Didn't the Vatican say back then that evolution could be explored as a scientific theory, so long as it was not treated as fact?

    It would be wise for the Vatican to define terms properly as well. Exactly what "evolution" means in this context is unclear. Are we talking about the Origin of the Species, ie that we all stem from some primeval soup, and obviously wrong? Or about natural selection and genetics, which the Church accepts?
