But Tagle is by no means an old man.  He could well live another 25 years.  I have to wonder if they'd go for that long of a pontificate.  Would there even be any more "indulters" after 25 years of a Tagle tyranny?

I'm rooting for Cardinal Sarah myself.  He might not be everything we'd like, but he'd be far better than who we have now.  His age militates against an extremely long pontificate, and his being a black African would definitely scratch the world where it itches --- what more could you possibly give to the colored races of the world?  What could possibly be more politically correct?

My prediction: a "Pope" Francis II (Tagle) who reigns until the end of the decade, dies tragically, replaced by a "Pope" John Paul III when we are hit by the Chastisement. He converts, dies, and we get a true Pope alongside the Monarch. After their reign, Antichrist comes.

Okay, not a prediction, but some world-building for this short story I was going to work on a couple years ago that never came to fruition. :jester:
