Goodness gracious. The docuмent is terrible. Another example of the evil fruits of modern "ecuмenism" without boundaries. It mentions the explicit-implicit faith controversy and tries to invoke this in favor of salvation for Jєωs,
"While affirming salvation through an explicit or even implicit faith in Christ, the Church does not question the continued love of God for the chosen people of Israel ... That the Jєωs are participants in God’s salvation is theologically unquestionable, but how that can be possible without confessing Christ explicitly, is and remains an unfathomable divine mystery."
No, it isn't. The leaders of the Church need to get their act together and solemnly define the doctrine already taught in the Athanasian Creed that there is no salvation without the Catholic Faith and explicit faith in Christ. The docuмent cites St. Peter, Prince of the Apostles, "Jesus Christ is the universal mediator of salvation, and that there is no “other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved” (Acts 4:12) but does not draw the logical and necessary conclusion, instead waffling with sentimental modernspeak. His crystal clear teaching, the unanimous interpretation of the Church Fathers, and the universal Christian understanding for over 1500 years should be invoked to settle the matter. A solemn definition that puts an end to error on implicit faith once and for all is one of the most important steps the Church should take in undermining the damage caused by the pastoral praxis of liberal ecuмenism following Vatican II.
