    • I don't know if maybe this has been posted already. If I understood correctly than these are Uniate Catholic bishops.

    No, just that they appear to be attached to him in some way or another.  For whatever that's worth.  I honestly don't know a whole lot about the man.

    • They broke off from the Ukrainian Catholics because they felt that Cardinal Husar had become a heretic.  They became sedevacantist at one point but now appear to be something like sedeprivationists.

    • But do they have normal jurisdiction in Ukraine? The 3 in the video all claim to be bishops I believe.

    I wonder what the Society of St. Josephat's attitude is toward them?

    • Well, let's find out who consecrated them before we call them bishops.  So far as I can tell, Patriarch Elijah/Elias has not revealed who consecrated him.

    That's the problem I have with them.  They created their own "Patriarchate", which they appear to think is endowed with some kind of jurisdiction.  Eastern Catholics, however, appear to have a slightly different perspective on what jurisdiction means, so I'm not 100% sure.

    They were apparently consecrated by a bishop who had been consecrated as an underground bishop during the Soviet years.  They have not formally said his name but I think that his identity is well known.
