  • So, I have had a strong desire to enter religious life since my conversion in 2010 but, as the years go on I am thinking that perhaps a third order would be best for me. However since the crisis in the Church, most religious orders have fallen out of tadition and consequently, so have their respective third orders.

My question is, how do I go about entering one of the few traditional third orders left? Or perhaps, is it possible to enter the third order of a religious order that is no longer traditional and yet do so traditionally, if that makes sense?

I am not sure which one I would actually end up discerning, but I love the dominicans and the carmelites especially. :incense:

  • Is there a third order community near where you live?

  •  :dancing-banana:You might try the traditional Franciscans.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Dominicans.

God bless you in your desire to enter the religious state of life!
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

I would not.   They are with Menzingen, at least by their silence.
