  • I have a couple of questions for those who attended the SSPX seminaries and also those who attended any of the other traditional seminaries.

Do the priests there wear hairshirts and use the discipline and do they encourage their seminarians to use these instruments of penance? And also do they encourage fasting and abstinence beyond that which is traditionally required by the Church?

I ask because I recently read in the biography of the Cure of Ars that he said a priest could not expect his parish to convert if he did not take on such forms of penance.

  • If traditional Catholicism is the true religion, then shouldn't our priests be modern day saints? If there are less than a thousand traditional priests in a world of seven billion, is it too much to ask for them to be a thousand saints who willingly do penance for the sake of their faithful and for the conversion of the world? We ask so much of our mothers and fathers, that they have many children and not use contraception and that they homeschool their children and that they give up television and modern music and that they dress modestly, not just at Mass. So shouldn't we expect more from the priests as well?
