  • Anyone on this forum live within a 3+ hour radius of Savannah, Georgia? I am currently in TX but I'm from Georgia and moving back in the next 8 months with my husband. My parents are in Georgia and are also traditional Catholics (we are all sedevacantist). My husband and I are looking to start a mission in South Georgia near the Savannah Airport in order to easily get priests in and out. We are looking to build community among traditional Catholics, as the south is very much a desert for the traditional Faith. Please email or private message me if you are interested in forming this community with us!

We don't live in Georgia but I wish you all of the best!

Bupping this to bring it back to recent posts for anyone who might not have seen it who might live in Georgia.

That it is! I was looking to see what your options are, and I can see why you want to get a mission started. The closest Sede chapel to Savannah is Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel run by the SSPV (~3 hours away). After that, it's either Fr Oswalt's mission near Atlanta, or the CMRI mission near Greenville, SC, both of which look like they're about 4 1/2 hours away. I won't recommend the chapel in Summerville, SC because I'm not sure about the formation of the clergy residing there.

I pray that you can get a mission started (and like AMDGJMJ, I don't live in Georgia either). The CMRI or RCI are probably the best options to contact about requesting a priest.
