I found Angelqueen to be like a pub brawl that just never seems to get broken up. Just as one source of agrivation dries up, another presents itself and the punches just keep flying. I really found it quite repulsive and no, I am not Daniel on that forum.
It's not unique in its persecution of Catholics. I've been on some 'sports' boards with their MISC section, and faced actual anti-Catholic bigotry. Generally you don't get banned. But you don't want to post there, any longer, knowing that such 'speech' is protected by the moderators. I did get banned at the Hannity religion forum, which seems to have been co-opted by the 'Education Day' chabbad-house crowd, with perhaps a Protestant moderator eager to please them. And years ago, I was banned from a Catholic list serve group. I was told by email that it was something of a badge of honor for Catholics.
I think that's the advantage of these hundreds, or thousands, of web boards, many of them not even specifically religious. So if you are banned from Hannity's religion forum, there are any number of other boards out there. The old Usenet was not quite like that. It was unmoderated. But the ruse was to complain to ones ISP. Potentially, those complaining could find sympathy in some other anonymous anti-Catholic with the authority to ban an account right at the ISP. Other than that, the approach would be to flood the board with spam, or jibberish. I think the last time that I posted to a Usenet Catholic group, my Agent reader found a least 100 'get-rich-quick' and pornography adds, among just a few new messages. I think, since then, the activity has moved away from what Google came to call groups.google, to the almost unlimited number of web boards that people set up.
It's just ironic with AQ. They certainly seem interested in THIS board and these threads. That's how I came across Cathinfo. But as I understand it, AQ was created for Catholic refugees from Free Republic, which after the 2006 election results were in, went on something of a jihad against Catholics, and those critical of Bush's border policies. Freedom departed from the Free Republic. And you would think that of all people, Grassmaier would not succuмb to the same tendencies, and particularly for his uncovering the truth about 'sinkspur', who was the unofficial provocateur on FR. But apparently he did. So if a Catholic suggested sedevacantism as a reasonable way to account for Popes doing in recent times what Popes, simply don't do, that poster was looking at getting banned. If one was critical of one of the 'regulars', it looked like the same was planned. It got to the point, when I stopped posting there, that it seemed as if they were more concerned with PC and 'towing the line' than with simply discussing the realities, good and bad. And the discussions from a bunch of 'mee-too' regulars, became worthless.
