  • Dear Catholics,

I am writing today to request help locating three things.

    1.  I remember reading in Spanish of a Bishop in Mexico, who left after the Changes of Vatican II, and retired to a small town where he served mass in a private chapel.  This Bishop died years ago, and there was a biography written, I believe by people associated with the Union Catolica Trento, the organization of Fr. Arriaga, but I could be mistaken.  Anyways, I konw there was a biography written, and the website that had it had a grey background with black text, and picture of the Bishop in front of the house where he lived.  We are talking like a Levebfre/Mayer resistor, just one who was not as active in the public world.  What was the name of this Bishop?

    2.  Bp. Vezelis, if I remember correctly, consecrated a Bishop for Argentina, (not Madrigal, I think (isn't Madrigal for Mexico?)).  What is this Bishop's name?

    3.  There is a community of traditionalist Jesuits in Argentina, I believe deriving from Vezelis lineage, and I am looking for a contact info for these Jesuits in Argentina, if they are still around.  I believe they even had a seminary, or some sort of house for priests.

Thank you much dear Catholics, and may the Lord hold you all in His Holy Eucharist!

    J.

  • Regarding the bishop from Mexico, are you talking about the bishop that died in a car accident?  That was either in the 80s or 90s, I don't remember.

The Mexican bishop who died in a car accident was Bishop Moises Carmona.  He died on November 1st, 1991 (but if you read more from this link, you'll see that it is also possible that he died before midnight on October 31st, 1991, his birthday.

  • Jordanawef,
Are you still here?  I see this was your only post.  Had you already been aware of the link that I posted?  There is quite a lot of info there.

Have you found out the info about the priests in Argentina?  If not, let me know as I know someone who knows Traditional Catholic priests down there and I can ask him, but maybe you already have found out the info yourself.

If you come back, please let us know what you've found out.  Thanks.

  • No, my friend, I am not referring to Carmona.  There was another Bishop, a completely different lineage.  He was an old Diocesan Mexican or Central/South American Bishop.  He retired, and lived a quiet life, serving a small parish and a few families.  I read about this a few years ago.  The website with his biography and pictures, appears to have been taken down.

There was a man who might know more.  He is a lawyer from Baja Mexico.  He lurked these forums a while back.  His name was wulfrano, that was his last name.  Wulfrano is part of a very unique and small group in Baja Mexico, who gather around a small parish where a very old priest retains Parochial jurisdiction from Pope Pius XII!  These situations, are very few.

If anyone else knows any old priests who retain jurisdiction from Pius XII, please do post!

Wulfrano, if you lurk, show yourself and let us know if you know more.

  • As for 1, unfortunately I can't help you. Bishop Vezelis has only (to his credit) consecrated two men: Bishop Giles Butler, OFM and Bishop Luis Madrigal. His Excellency has only ordained 5 priests (as Franciscans he trained) and assisted in the imposition of hands at ordination of a priest (the only one so far, himself trained by) Bishop Madrigal. Bishop Vezelis had absolutely nothing to do with the Argintenean group, ever. They were associated in some way with Bishop Martinez of Mexico (whom Bishop Vezelis was associated somehow) who ordained for them. However their founder, Morello, Bishop Vezelis views as invalid due to ordination and consecration by Lefebvre/Lefebvre lineage.
