Re-read my post. I was talking specifically about the sacraments.
But now I ask you this: When a pope dies, and the See is vacant, does all grace come to a halt?
Obviously not.
And then, if it should come to pass that those occupying the Vatican, truly were heretics, would all grace then come to a halt?
If not, would it come to a halt when the only sacraments available would be those of Baptism and Matrimony?
Of course, grace is still bestowed by those sacraments rightly entered into, so obviously not.
But what about people who fall after baptism? Are they completely deprived of grace if they cannot get to a priest?
Oh yeah, Trent decreed that Penance is necessary, but that perfect contrition with the desire for penance may also bring about forgiveness. And what about making a sincere confession to the Saints? Do you deny that they truly hear such a confession? Could it be that they also absolve the penitent from heaven (if you think this is heretical, show me why)?
Does PRAYER not merit GRACE?
In the end, stevusmagnus' post basically says nothing more than that HE believes the antipopes are in fact true popes, despite all their heresy, which he implicitly admitted to by posting "White Smoke Valid Pope".
It says nothing at all of "If sedes are right," because he doesn't want to look at that side of it, from what I can tell.
It may look to you like I don't want to either, but believe you me, I came into the sede vacante position KICKING AND SCREAMING.
