  • Who is promoting it?  Apparently, it’s legal, not that the law stops those ruled by their loins rather than morals.
At least at their ages, there won’t be any inbred children.
If I ever want to marry my nephew, the closest in age who’s single would be a only a 27 year age difference!   On second thought, I couldn’t take the trauma of rejection!  :jester:

  • Kevin is a funny name even for a ficticious named Portuguese man. I wonder if there are any real people named Kevin in Portugal.

Portugal was once a great Catholic country. One of the greatest actually.

Sadly it is no more, but I think that, even these days, this kind of thing will be frowned upon.

I can see a incestuous future in the Western world, with many abortions resulting from it, because the offspring of these monstruous couples will have severe problems even before they are born.

  • This happened with Philip II of Spain. I was just reading also that it was not initially supported and even by St. Pius V, but it still happened that he was able to marry his niece somehow. I would guess it is surely an impediment now that cannot be dispensed, but I don't know. In those days, it would have probably required a dispensation since there was a relationship of consanguinity. It did not completely work though since the heir Philip III was the only child who survived the longest, and the direct male line itself died out eventually, resulting in the situations of the Spanish War of Succession and later the now ongoing dispute between the Legitimists and Orleanists over the succession to the French throne.

It only goes to show that the Portuguese man in question is not making a wise decision, even if were not to lead to something like that described above, although just merely for reasons of common sense to not marry a relative too closely related through consanguinity.

  • Dear Abby is promoting this filth.  And giving out advice that is scandalous.  People are gullible these days.

I think some of this stuff is made up.  Abortion and sodomy are legal too but it goes against the natural law of God.  Incest goes against God.

The Rockefellers were into incest big time to protect their bloodline, investments and money.

Then dear Abby says husband can go without the wife.  A huge no-no.
This is opening the door to satan.

Obviously, this Portuguese man is grieving and demons have entered him.

Currently, there are adult relatives raping
underage relatives then take them to abortion clinic.

[color=var(--bbQxAb)]Cousin marriage was once the norm throughout the world, but it became taboo in Europe after a long campaign by the Roman Catholic Church. Also keeping assets over generations in the extended family, and other strategic connections too.

That's part of why the custom persists among Muslims, even with obvious proof of its unnaturalness in so many children born physically and mentally crippled. Re Kephapaulos @ #3, see also: the hemophilia scourge among the former royal lines of Europe, particularly for the male heirs.

  • Dear Abby is promoting this filth.  And giving out advice that is scandalous.  People are gullible these days.

Was a time that people who did this sort of thing, whether out of willful perversion or neglected poor young creatures led astray, knew well enough to leave town immediately rather than give scandal to their neighbors and bring shame upon their kin. Or if they stuck around, whether cluelessly or defiantly, they were hounded out with burning torches. They moved to the big bad city and were never heard from again.

Now anything goes, anywhere and everywhere, and you can follow your "own truth", infinite inalienable dignity and all that jazz.

Didn't stop the Macrons, 24-yr age difference. (I'd type "Mr. & Mrs. Macron" but even that's not certain. )
