. . .

But if the prayers are only concerning saying mass, cant we still go to a novus ordo priest to get confessions?
. . .

If they can't say Mass and concecrate bread and wine, then they aren't priests. Not for saying Mass, nor any other purpose that requires one to be a priest.

What about if they have been ordained, maybe not up to the level of priest, but to the level of deacon? Deacons hear confessions...
Or are the rites for deacons invalid aswell? :stare:

This isn't even permitted in NO.  It's a serious transgression if this has occurred anywhere.  It strikes me as being so outlandish of a comment that it makes me wonder if you're even Catholic--even NO/conciliarist.  If you're not and you're here to learn, I think that's good.  But I think you've held yourself out to be Catholic.

I'm not stating my doubts to start a big argument.  But I have spent most of my life in NO/conciliarism, and I never saw this nor heard any mention of this even one time.  So I don't think it would be appropriate for fellow forum members to dismiss this as simply another abuse of conciliarism--it makes me doubt that you're who you say you are and, frankly, your purpose of being here.
