Is there a good magazine that I can recommend to my friend?

The Reign of Mary (http://www.cmri.org/reign_of_mary.shtml), a quarterly magazine.

The Four Marks (http://www.thefourmarks.com/), a monthly newspaper.

I've never heard of The Traditionalist.  But I agree that it doesn't sound very subtle to me either.

The piety of the Mohammedans is admirable, despite the fact that it is misdirected toward a false religion. The magazine has a point, though promotion of Islam certainly has no place in a Catholic publication. Novus Ordites could learn a good lesson in piety from the Mohammedans, though realistically they'd probably learn nothing and instead try to ecuмenize instead.

Quote
To me, one of the greatest treasures of Islam is its five
daily prayers when the faithful prostrate themselves before
God on the earth and touch their foreheads to the ground.
How much theology becomes unnecessary at the sight of
people praying so!

These two sentences are totally out of context to the matter being discussed.

It is as if the author, Mosebach, is subtly promoting Islam.

If you were to show this quote to the majority of priestly organizations in the world today, don't be surprised to hear something along the lines of: "Sure Islam is an abomination in the eyes of God. But maybe this Muslim is invincibly ignorant through no fault of his own, leads a good moral upstanding life, and even though he/she REJECTS Christ objectively, subjectively he/she is a Catholic in a state of grace and doesn't even know it. Who are we to judge?"

So as you can see religious freedom that is supposedly being condemned by traditional priestly organizations is actually being promoted SUBTLY!

Go show a priest that quote and listen to what they say. Hopefully he will be condemn it without any of the mumbo jumbo given above.
