Quote from: SpiritusSanctus
This is freightening. In the following quote, Ratzinger implies that Christ is not present in the Eucharist!

Quote
Eucharistic devotion such as is noted in the silent visit by the devout in church must not be thought of as a conversation with God. This would assume that God was present there locally and in a confined way. To justify such an assertion shows a lack of understanding of the Christological mysteries of the very concept of God. This is repugnant to the serious thinking of the man who knows about the omnipresence of God. To go to church on the ground that one can visit God who is present there is a senseless act which modern man rightfully rejects.”

If that quote is true, then any Traditional Catholic should really examine their own conscience about who this man really is.  Dare them call him a Vicar of Christ.

After reading that quote, I have no doubt that Benedict is a formal heretic. How can you call yourself a Catholic and deny the presence of Christ in the Eucharist? There is nothing else he could have meant, except to say that Christ is not present in the Eucharist.

On the other hand Spiritus, he is right, after they changed the rite of ordination, it is doubtful that Our Lord is present.

The bottom line is, although he is some sort of "pope" for the New Church, with their new sacraments and rites. He is certainly NOT a pope of the Roman Catholic church, where God is truly present, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, within our tabernacles throughout the world.

Not sure if the quote of Anne Catherine Emmerich about this very subject, the host being only bread is true, but it certainly is when you look at how New church has destroyed everything that is holy.

The sadness falls on the fate of people who still believe that God is present, and through the grace of God, still retain the Faith, when they receive.  When they read this quote from their "pope" it is destroying their Catholic faith.  We must pray for these poor souls. Most young people today, being raised in the novus ordo, do not believe that Our Lord is even present, they just claim it is bread from heaven, but when you push them, to explain what that means, they just stare at you, as I experienced when I did ask them.
