  • When asked about women’s ordination, Pope Francis said, “On the ordination of women in the Catholic Church, the final word is clear, it was said by St. John Paul II and this remains.” When asked whether the ban on ordination of women is “forever,” the Holy Father replied that the statement by St. John Paul “leads in that direction.”

Pope Francis went on to explain that the Church is not discriminating against women by adhering to the male-only priesthood, but recognizing that women have a different role—and in many ways a superior role. He remarked that “women can do so many things better than men.” He remined reporters that the Church has a Marian as well as a Petrine dimension, and that the role of the Virgin Mary is more important than that of St. Peter. “Much more,” he emphasized.

  • The Conciliar church knows that priestesses would be a bridge too far--at least for now.

The first step is the establishment of deaconesses.  After the Conciliar church is used to deaconesses filling many roles and presiding at services in the absence of priests (because the introduction of the married priesthood and ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ marriage doesn't alleviate the priest shortage), the bishops will begin to ask why these "very capable" women can't be ordained priests--after all, they're already "ordained" deaconesses!

This report says that Bergoglio said that Wojtyla's statement only "leads" towards the "direction" that the ban on priestesses is forever, but he's also said that he worships a "God of surprises".  The only thing left to wonder about is what the next surprise will be.

The conciliar church since John XXIII convened Vatican II:

1000 steps forward toward the modernism ("the cesspool of all heresies"), one step back, 1000 steps forward, one step back, 1000 steps forward, one step back..........
The Vatican II church - Assisting Souls to Hell Since 1962

For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. Mat 24:24

I think that Pope Francis' answer was a surprise to all the feminists who were expecting a different answer.

It should not have been.  Early in his anti-pontificate he was cool toward the thought of priestesses, not because of any theological reasons but because he felt the desire to the priesthood by women smacked of clericalism.

So, as usual, Bergoglio's being a contradictory little ass. I give it 10 years before we get female clergy in the Novus Ordo.
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...

The last report I read indicated that deaconesses and married priests (and probably ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ matrimonial rites) are to be discussed at the next synod in October 2018.  The official working title is currently, "Youth, Faith and Vocational Discernment".  I've not read anything indicating that this one is to be split over two years as the synod against the family was, so it is possible that these things can be approved by Spring of 2019.

I think priestesses would take at least five years after that to be approved and another couple of year before the first ordination.  So your 10 year prediction could be very close to reality.

  • I think it will come quicker!  Women are now associated pastors.  They do just about everything.  They give out the cookie, say the rosary for the dead and it wouldn't surprise me if they were giving out what they call anointing of the sick.

Pope Francis just told the woman reporter "no."

While he certainly said a lot of things, the one thing he certainly did not say--or, at least, it was not quoted in the article posted--was, "no."  As with all things Conciliar, Bergoglio is saying that the answer seems to be that it will not happen...until it does.

  • When women wish to usurp the role of men society crumbles. The fact is that women do have a secondary, supportive role to men. They really are the "second sex" and dependent on men in a way that men are not dependent on women.
Women do have an immensely important role, though. A good woman can be an indispensable help to a man. Women can give men the motivation to better themselves in a way that almost nothing else can.

The problem is that God put man in a position of authority, and there's a rebellious streak in women that causes them to want to usurp that authority (a good woman is essentially one who has a sense of shame in the presence of a man). Women dressed up as priests is very unnatural and disturbing.

The problem is that feminism has so gutted our society that nobody can speak of women as having in any way a subordinate role to men. We have to constantly tip-toe around so as not to offend anyone with the least suggestion that men & women aren't perfectly equal in everything. This damages women more than men. Women have a natural desire to devote themselves to a man, and young women tend to speak about hardly anything else. The feminist brainwashing that convinces them that being a corporate executive is more dignified than being a wife and a mother is diabolical.

  • At this point, the Church is so far gone, who cares if we have women priests or not?

Let them be priests and let the Church bottom out completely.

A lot of the old prophecies said that when all hope seems lost, then Our Lord will intervene.

What he said wasn't "yes" and it wasn't "maybe" and everyone who heard him was in agreement that he said "no" and "never" to the idea of women priests.

That's because he is a politician and not a pope.
