It was my generation, the early baby boomers of WW2. That had to go through the changes
starting in the early 1960's.  First the changes were effecting the Latin which a very few
understood unless you attended a Catholic High School in which I attended. I had 4 years
of Latin. Graduated with the class of 1966.
The changes that started in the First Advent of 1964 in which many Catholic Churches
in my area turned that altar around first by a table than a permanent table with the
old altar completely removed, one parish in Venice, Ca. The old altar was in plain view
after being dumped in the front of the church when people entered the church for
Mass.
When the new mass was introduced in 1969. I immediately notice how protestant it was.
And I had to leave church to avoid contamination with protestant ideals.
The proof is in the results. When I attended my 30th High School Reunion.  Not one
were practicing their faith and were just concerned with the things of the world and
how successful they are. One of my former classmates left the church and became a
protestant.  I knew him since the First Grade. He came from a devout Catholic Family
and served Mass for years.
I was given a VHS tape of the 20th High School reunion and it was an absolute
scandal. Even the priest teachers participated in it.  Since we have women on this
forum. I will not discuss it.
I myself came from a protestant family. My Dad religion was Southern Baptist and my
My Mother's was Methodist. She converted to the Catholic Religion in 1953, and my
my brothers and Sisters in the same year, and when they were born.
From my judgment Vatican 2 has been very bad for the church and my generation
mostly went along with it.
I did not bother to respond to an invitation for the 40th reunion because I was heading
out of Dodge City.
 

1953: Boy, does that sound familiar.  I was born in 1952 and you paint the same picture that I would.  My husbands parents were Baptist and no religion.  After 4 years of marriage they both became Catholics.  Catholics were admired after the war.  When there is war the truth shows for itself and people like the Faith, love it.  I married my school mate.  So, we have a reunion every day, ha!

But the sad thing is, the same picture, all the class mates are out of the church or New Order IF there is any there.  The priest that married us messed with our cousin, an altar boy.  We found this out 2 years ago.  Fort Wayne, IN area.
My family is three fourths out and only a few are New Order.  We are traditional, Thank God, since 1996.

It saddens me that people of my generation who grew up with the TLM and have gone to the NO won't even consider going to a TLM.

I consider myself fortunate that we have a priest in a local parish that actually put up an altar rail and celebrates the TLM.  I go there every Sunday at 3PM.  I love the LM.  And yes I think a lot of people have left the church because of the NO.

At the NO Mass at my parish you never hear the priest say Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.  I just find the entire affair upsetting..

This priest, if we are lucky will remain with this parish for another 6 years then they will transfer him.  I hope they replace him with another priest brave enough to celebrate the TLM.

And where is that?

Consider the full meaning of this hope.  

You hope that a priest will be brave enough to say the Mass of the Catholic Church that existed for centuries in a Catholic Church--or, more accurately, a church building that once was a Catholic Church but has been stolen by the hirelings.

It is shameful that we now consider as brave a man who will say the Catholic Mass in a building that is supposed to be a Catholic Church.  We used to think it brave when a man would say the Catholic Mass in a place where the secular government oppressed the Catholic Church--but now it is the Conciliar church that oppresses the Catholic Church.

And why is he brave?  Because everyone, and I mean every single person, knows that such an act is hated by the hierarchy; that such an act is viewed by the bishop as revolutionary, almost schismatic; that such an act is considered tantamount to disobedience to the Conciliar church!  And yet, people continue to think of this sect as Catholic.

Yes and I understand that he got push back when he put up the altar rail.  He is the Pastor of his church so I guess he can do pretty much what he wants.  We have about 25-30 people on any given Sunday.  It is a shame more people don't take advantage of the Mass.  I guess they prefer the almost nothingness of the NO.
