Have you ever looked closely at Isaiah 23? It is a rich mine full of gold regarding the End Times.

Tyre is a type (nice coincidence there in the similarity of the spelling) of the Church, or if you prefer, what the entity which represents itself in the End Times as the Church is. The Babylon Whore is likewise such a type. One may call the Church of the New Covenant the "Gentile Church," as a way of distinguishing it from OT Israel, fulfilling the mystery of the redemption of all men without racial distinction "out of every tribe, and tongue, and people, and nation." Apoc. 5:9.

Do not read verses 17 and 18 consecutively. Many get themselves into trouble in reading the Apocalypse because they see and read chapters and even individual verses as presenting a chronologically progressing view; that often will get one into error.

Verse 18 actually refers to a period of time before verse 17. The Gentiles - me, you, and all non-Jєωιѕн Catholics and their native lands - will feed the Church for "seventy years." This is the period of the Church's spread of the Gospel across the globe, mainly in her liturgy and sacraments, which provide "food" and "clothing" to spiritually nourish man (cf. the period of "nourishment" of the "woman" in Apoc. 12:14) and cover his sin.

At the end of this period - now, and since the Great Apostasy in the Church - "Tyre . . . turn(s) to her hire," and "commit(s) fornication." The nourishment and clothing are gone. The "Gentiles," who were brought into the "Israel" of the Church and guided it and provided it with its popes, bishops, priest, faithful - return to their "whoredom" and paganism you might say, return to their "fornication." Videlicet, the MYSTERY BABYLON HARLOT WHORE.

The Church is a bride and sings as a bride for seventy years - Isa. 23:16, the Gentile's harlotry or paganism is "forgotten" and she sings the Lord's song as the bride of Christ until her judgment and


You are correct. This has nothing to do with the world's economics but with the sacramental economy.

Don't be obsessed with numbering popes, etc. There may be more after Leo, maybe not; that is not the point. The substance is the point; understanding God's tropes is the point - both as to what "merchandise" is, who "Tyre" and "Babylon" are in prophecy for those who hazard into these waters. Understanding these things in the light of the Great Apostasy will help one be ready, for it will help one stay out of the clutches of the beast and the Great Apostasy. Some of us need this understanding, or God uses it, to get us moving out of where we ought not to be:



Though of course God leads some out without the need for any understanding of these things, understanding them not having a sine qua non necessity. Amen.
