Title: The Face of todays traditionalists
Post by: holysoulsacademy on March 16, 2014, 03:03:50 PM
I checked in on a TLM Missal blogpost that has the daily missal readings, and was very surprised to see this on their page ~ REGINA MAGAZINE (http://reginamag.com/veiled/?utm_source=All+Subscribers&utm_campaign=752ab3bc2a-March_2014_Newsletter3_12_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_96a859bb23-752ab3bc2a-53402501)
(WARNING - some photos are quite bothering)

The faces of the new traditional catholic:

A magazine geared towards the modern traditionalist.
This is what the SSPX longs to be a part of, I beieve they are suffering from being on the outs for too long.  They just want to be part of it all.
(If you scroll down the page there is an article about a TLM in an interfaith chapel that looks like it was part of the set of Star Wars)

They appear to be pitching veils and head coverings as a fashion accessory.

Two of them do not have sleeves on their dresses. The point of wearing a veil is to cover.

They're advertising veils?  Bare arms?  Exactly who is supposed to be attracted to Mass by this ad?  Young men looking for women without tattoos?

If you scroll to the bottom you see this:

STYLIST: Regina Fashion & Style Editor Sequoia Sierra (www.sequoiasierra.com)

VEILS: www.veilsbylily.com

LOCATION: Sts. Peter & Paul, Wilmington, CA (http://www.sppc.us)

It appears to be little more than a selling point. And only beautiful women go there. A bit heavy on the make-up too.

I agree they're bothersome. First, ALL the girls are trying to look like an earlier version of Angelina Jolie. A decade ago it was a blonde (don't know who, but they all looked the same: skinny, long straight blonde hair, perfect teeth, bone thin); now it's fat-lipped, brunette Angelina Jolie.

(Who is attractive — I'm not trying to put the woman's physical appearance down. But uh, all this plastic surgery stuff on TEENS and girls in their early 20s truly bothers me. They don't look like natural humans at all!)

Even if some of the "attributes" are real, they most certainly can't put them on DISPLAY like that!

I would have guessed the pictures here came from a porn site, to be Frank. I'm not kidding.

Holy Mother of God I just clicked the link  :tv-disturbed:

Second picture down on the site?!   Oh you do NOT go before Our Lord looking like that. That dress is expensive (the material looks like a silk and wool mix) so they can't claim POVERTY. I'm usually VERY open-minded with pictures of people from Haiti or some poverty-stricken place, where the women are showing their shoulders or the clothes are a bit ill-fitting, because I don't know their circuмstances and they may be wearing the best they own. But THESE Jezebel dresses are EXPENSIVE and designed ONLY to draw attention to --you know.

No way Our Lord waits until 2017. I mean, I just don't see it. I'm not trying to put a timeline on Our Lord — in His own good time etc. But unless THAT PLACE gets NUKED SOON, I can't imagine Our Lady protecting ...that. A whorehouse puts more clothes on its women than what is displayed there.

 :faint:

Today, this is changing. A new generation of Catholic women, unintimidated by the disapproval of their elders, are once again veiling in the Real Presence.

THE LIPSTICK?! JEZEBEL Eye PAINT?! This is how new generations of "traditional" women are showing their respect for —?

Thanks for sharing. I had no idea things had fallen this far. PLEASE "trad teens", please get intimidated! Go back to guitars and jeans, but DON'T show up to Mass like this hot mess. She's just a model so I'm not judging the model, but the site? The conciliarist NSSPX it represents? Let God do to that "magazine" as He wills. (AND FAST!)

(Could this been an April Fool's joke?)

This magazine has no connection to the SSPX.  Your other comments are on the mark.  It's one of countless gimmicks the devil employs to make it "cool" to follow Jesus Christ.

I've come across this group? before and others who think alike. They might have some nice quotes but the bottom line is that they like the feeling it gives them.

When I see a good looking woman / girl who goes to mass I just think, yea, thats how things are supposed to be... For the inner light is shown forth in outer charm. BUT when I see ugly people, I test them to find whether they have light within, and most of the time the fact is that they have no charm because of their interior darkness. All women will be ugly in the end, but what matters is whether they have an interior beauty, for then they will not lose their charm. It is the fact that they believe which is what Catholic men want. They dont want no wholre.

Frances believe me when I say that this is the position that the NovusSSPX laity is looking to position themselves with.
We are talking about some of them being third generation trads, offshoots from SSPX, those that went the route of Diocesan, FSSP, or ICK.
They see this and say - see they have become just like us, so now we can join them.
A large part of it is combat fatigue, they just want to settle down, and seeing as how in their mind they the NO are looking pretty Trad anyway, then what's the hold up?
Plus since doctrine is hardly ever discussed the children of these Trads look at girls like this and say - see we can be trad and be modern too.
Don't be surprised if these girls aren't models, I have seen quite a number of them look this way when they come to Mass.  It was difficult to explain to my teenage daughter how the girls who looked and dressed this way were not ok and she should not dress like them, but then she would say - "But aren't they traditional family too, and Fr. did not say it was bad."  And since some of these girls came from the first generation chapel people, they were never told off by the priests.
And the teenage boys from that chapel ~ pls. God forgive them!  All they can do is ogle at the girls before, during and after Mass.  And those girls did not mind the attention one bit.

Two of the comments are from women who've literally written books on modesty -- Colleen Hammond and Rita Davidson -- but they didn't mention the sleeveless dresses and low necklines.

These people sent me a message saying that " it's not too late for being a model for Regina magazine"

None of these models reflect the modesty of Our Lady though.

I don't see anything wrong with wearing an "expensive" dress to Mass, st Cecilia girl, but I do see a major problem with the immodesty in dress and make up.

There is a bit of a solidarity among bloggers and some public figures. They also use one another to promote themselves. It wouldn't be in self interest to offer criticism.  I'm not saying for sure that they are doing that, maybe they are just trying to focus on any good or step towards modesty, I truly don't know.

I do appreciate feminine fashions but I would not be happy of my daughters looked like that or participated in those kinds of photo shoots. I think the idea of beauty is being accented rather than the purpose of head covering itself.
