  • While browsing the net, found these cries of a few novus ordo faithful,
how sad, we need pray for these poor people.

Just copied a few of their cries, but there are so many, I never knew.  I thought most of those hungry for the truth were out of there already.  Learned something today.

    Quote
I used to be sacristan at a relatively conservative Catholic church. Most times the priests just barely waved their hands over the water in a vague sign of the cross. But in the sacristy there was a laminated sheet with the real prayers for blessing holy water which involved a (simple) exorcism. I would set out the large container of water with the salt and the prayer sheet whenever the holy water would run low. But the priests were reluctant to use the real prayers. They looked like vampires faced with a cross.
I have to wonder, "Are the true prayers for consecrating holy water EVER used anymore in any Novus Ordo church in America?"

    Another Person cries:

    Holy water?
I hardly see anyone using it to make the sign of the cross going in and out of church. Just like no one genuflects before getting into the pew... but then, what is one genuflecting to? The tabernacle isn't on the main altar anymore.
Sorry, skipped the High Mass at Holy Trinity today for my local parish NO. Big mistake. Got a sermon on how we should expect married priests because there are no vocations. No mention on how orthodox dioceses have more vocations than beds, no mention on how most of us have two kids due to contraception and no mention of how one would be guided to a vocation when nothing presented is holy or inspiring in the least. And, most of all, this priest never spoke about his own fulfulling vocation. And all I was hoping was that he'd take the "our bodies are temples" part of the readings and elaborate on it in a Catholic way. I should have known better. Please pray for him. I am so angry and hurt it's going to be hard for me to continue to do it.

    Another:

It’s not that we have more egregious liturgical abuses than other parishes do; it could be a lot worse.
Still, the bad music, the ad-libbed prayers, the often-ridiculous “prayers of the faithful”, [yes, even those taken from the "reformed" Liturgy of the Hours are frequently so banal and worldly as to be depressing, when they're not actively asking for things that are impossible or even destructive] the glad-handing and racing around the church at the “sign of peace”, and so on…ad nauseum…constitutes a continuous grating on the nerves.

And again another faithful novus ordo cries…

On the Sundays when we attend Mass
celebrated by a fairly orthodox priest, I get my hopes up a little, and I think, “Maybe this week I can hang onto my state of grace long enough to receive Holy Communion.” Because usually I don’t. Recently, though, even when I have been able to overlook the bad music and a few liturgical abuses, I cannot bring myself to receive.

    Please pray for my soul.

  • Excellent post, Myrna!!!

We should make it a habit to pray for those in pain while attending the novus ordo.  Many of them are absolutely bewildered and are literally in the dark.  They need our prayers because for each one that does discover the Catholic Mass, there are others who are misled into protestantism or some other false heretical sect.

Those in pain are the orphans of Vatican II.

They need our prayers and perhaps each of us should include an intention for them from time to time or even have a Mass said for them.

  • As hard as it may be, they are where they are for a reason. Supposing they do not deny the Catholic Faith, they may not be able to handle more information on the crisis without losing their faith. It is a delicate balance, helping people embrace the Faith in a manner that sets their souls at peace without all of the confusion and totally scandalizing them to the point of no return. The truth of the matter is so shocking. I still will tell people not to attend the NO but I am much more prayerful and tactful than I might have been in the past. It's hard, you want to help them escape the torment of the Vatican II religion but things can go awry.

  • Myrna:  thank you for that post!  My mother is a cradle catholic, born in 1931.  When my father(cath. convert) died my mom took on another man twice divorced protestant.  They had a civil ceremony by a minister that was encourged to be done by New Order presbyter.  And that was in front of my family members.  My brother decided to make it a double ring affair with him marrying a catholic(new Order ) in 1987.  I being stupid did not catch on to the sinfulness until 1996 when we were reborn to traditional.  I am 60 and thank God, God helped us to SEE!  I can not convince my mother and my siblings otherwise.  I get the hang up on the phone.  We are states apart and thank God for that, I think.  It is so sad to hear the cries of those who are fed-up with the New Order, though, and stay there!  Some how we are graced to have our eyes opened.  And Thank God for that.  And because of this, we are in the position to pray that much more and do penance for them besides ourselves who endure.

  • You're welcome songbird, I started to include these people in my daily morning prayers, it is indeed sad...

Here is a link I found for anyone who wants to read more pleas.  Today at Mass our priest mentioned , when "they" start preaching Christ Crucified maybe there is hope they are coming back.

  • I read that site.  Wow!  Very sad.  By their thoughts you can tell if they are educating themselves or not.  Some people just repeat what they hear or read but do not take time to find out for themselves.  Like the one who posted, " The NO is valid, because I serve or go there every day or frequently."  In other words, if he goes to NO it has to be true, for he would not want to look like the fool.
