  • The Catholic Voice is Back With An Expanded Apostolate

In the December, 2010, issue of The Catholic Voice as published by the Society of Traditional Roman Catholics [STRC Home Page], an announcement was made that the STRC and its newsletter would be no more.  Indeed, The Catholic Voice ended, albeit temporarily, and the STRC had its final meeting in March 2011.

In that December issue, readers were told that Fr. Kevin Vaillancourt would continue writing, and many wrote in to express their sorrow at seeing The Catholic Voice no longer available, while also saying they wanted to be kept informed of any future work of Fr. Vaillancourt.  When Father finalized his plans to resume publishing a Roman Catholic journal based on traditional Catholic teachings, it made sense to continue the name The Catholic Voice as an expression to our readers that the commitment to true Catholic teachings as founded in the previous newsletter for more than twenty-six years would still be the guiding principle in all that Fr. Vaillancourt writes.  However, the aim of our apostolate has expanded:  to the topics covered before in The Catholic Voice will be added all those that are part of the apostolate known as Catholic Action.

    Enemies of Christ are succeeding.

The enemies of Christ have succeeded in rendering Catholics frightened and apathetic.  We who possess the source of Truth and Grace will barely talk to one another about spiritual matters, much less explain to friends and neighbors, or even strangers, the proper principles of a spiritual and civilized life whenever we are asked.  We are frightened because evil is triumphing on all sides and we don't know what we, so small in numbers, can do about it.  We are apathetic because, possessing little knowledge of our Faith, we are not on fire enough to spread it to others.  This is not the proper spirit of those who possess the Catholic and Apostolic Faith.

Long before this sad state of affairs, the Popes placed before us an exable of life known as Catholic Action -- an organized apostolate of the religious and the laity whereby the clergy are assisted in their work by religious Brothers and Sisters, as well as by lay men, women, and children who bring the Gospel message and Catholic thought to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, classmates, and more.  The aim of all articles in The Catholic Voice will be to further the work of Catholic Action among us, one soul at a time.

    Study of Faith Is Necessary

This is the plan for The Catholic Voice:  to provide educational and informative articles, as well as works that will inspire us to live our faith better.  Working together, we can revive Catholic Action according to the plan established years ago, a plan long since abandoned by the conciliar church.  We can win the world back to Christ, and wrest the practice of our true Catholic Faith away from the devil, if we pray and work hard for it.  Please join us in the cause.
