    Some web pages show her date of birth in 1896 or 1894...?
    So I am uncertain if this is the real relative , Grand-mère of POPE Leo XIV...
    At the end of the day, if Pope Leo was baptized, without perjury or forgery , lies, of docuмents, he was an individual-  regular Catholic. On the other hand, if there is a glowing doubt about the validity of Baptism, he should get on his knees and get baptized by a true Catholic, and (try) get re-elected. Interesting. New reason for SV's.


    I see that handwritten doc, I noticed that her birth was registered on Monday, February 5, 1894.
    So, she was born Feb 2, [1 o'clock at night,].

    That corresponds to  the 1894 calendar. (see second att.).

    Complete translation forthcoming, unless PV wants to have a go at it.?

    • Sorry, I meant to ask if Pope Leo's baptism was valid, where the scenario would be that his father , (John?) was questionably baptized... because of the invalid second marriage with Suzanne. But as I said, the new Pope is very probably baptized along the way.  
    The Church probably had no clue about Salvatore's first valid marriage in 1886, am I right?  So there is a ripple effect . The saying goes: "The first lie is the easiest to speak..."

    • Children are still validly baptized regardless of the parents' situation.

    My parents were not only not married when they had me. I was still baptized a year later.

    CORRECTION:  SALVATORE married twice, but not in 1886...I  got mixed up. Sorry. I am confusing his grandfather and / or father of the Pope. This story is too confusing.  Now we have Louis Marius Prevost.  It might affect Church docuмents when you are "exco" for adultery...that's my point for baptism of the offspring.

    Likewise, what would an invalid marriage later in his life have to do with John Prevost's having been baptized?  And why would there be a question as to his baptism or to its validity?

    And of course Robert Prevost was baptized, there's no "probably" to it.  There is no reason to question the sacramental validity of his baptism either.

    I am concerned that you have an incorrect concept of what can, and cannot, affect the validity of a sacrament.  And just to be clear, "validity" refers to whether it was an actual sacrament or not, IOW, "did it 'take'?".  That is not to be confused with liciety ("was it lawful according to the canons of the Church?").  Two different things.

    Provost is not a highly unusual surname.
    If you randomly Google my full name, you get three physicians, a dentist, a psychotherapist, a college professor of philosophy, a mother of eight children, widow, dead and buried, and another deceased lady who worked for the federal dept. of  justice.  Not one of them is me or in any way related to me that I know of.
