  • I am new here ,so please do pardon me if i post in a wrong section.(i couldn't find anything specific other than this for my inquiry)

Well to explain better,i will have to start from the beginning.you see i was a protestant for a long time(a catholic hating one to say precise). but for the last year or two, i have been researching Catholicism, its history & such.during my research i found out about Traditional Catholicism
and became very much interested in it.i found that everything i hated about it(Catholicism) is from N.O & such.so by the second half of last year i was pretty sure that this was the truth(as in traditional Catholicism). i then began searching for a traditional chapel. i could only find one,an SSPX Priory.

Now here's were the problem is,the Priory is pretty far away from me.but even so i decided to go for it.i had called them up to inquiry, but then they told me that it will be very hard for me to get there and such & such.i told them that it was alright with me,but they told me that they have problems of there own and that i should just make do with any N.O Church nearby. i tried to persuade them but it was to no avail.

So now my confusion lies whether i should just go to some N.O Church or not.i certainly want to be baptized as soon as possible.but i am fearful of whether it did be a sin and such & such.

I found this forum,so i decide to leave this post.i hope anyone here can help me with my predicament.

    Thanks in advance,
    God bless

(P.S. forgive me if my English is not top notch, for i am not a native speaker of it)

That's the new SSPX for you.

I don't know what to tell you.  Perhaps you should talk to a traditionalist priest.

Maybe send a message to the webmaster at inthissignyoushallconquer.com

  • I don't understand.  If there's a chapel there, you want to go and you are able to go, why don't you just go?

you see there's only one father who's visit's the priory like once a week ,for like just for the mass.
then he leaves to another chapel or such ,which is like in another state.so he say's to me to just make do with a N.O Church.

Well, until you get confirmed, you could just watch, but don't approach the altar, when everyone else does and then you do the spiritual communion.  It sounds like he doesn't have time to do classes there, so you'd just have to take them at your local parish, but you could still read the stuff on your own, that you would normally get in classes at an sspx chapel.  They sell it at angelus press.  The main book is called, "My Catholic Faith."

Where is this SSPX chapel where potential converts to the faith are encouraged to go to any old Novus Ordo parish?

This post doesn't ring true to me, and I'm not even an anti-SSPX zealot.  While I recognize that there are problems in the SSPX today, this posting seems to be too incredible to believe.

i really do tell the truth.this is what they told me.
i didn't ask this question to attack the sspx or to defame it.
but just to clarify a doubt as to whether i should go to N.O or not,and whether i did be a sin to do so.
i hold nothing against the SSPX or anyone.

  • Just arrange for your baptism soonest.  Make it your first priority!

  • Definitely do NOT go to the NO. That is very bad advice.

As Capt McQuigg said, make an arrangement for your baptism as soon as possible.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.
