Jesuit Father Kino also established missions in Arizona. The only one I have been to is San Xavier del Bac.
San Xavier del Bac
Looks beautiful! I love those old Spanish missions! Everyone should venture down to the Southwest, if not Mexico or some other Latin American country, and take a few of them in. Guatemala City and Antigua Guatemala have some of the best examples in Central America. My dream is to some day go to Cuba to see the old Spanish architecture there.
On a side note, I wonder if these old mission churches shudder when they hear the Novus Ordo being celebrated inside. Their walls were built to echo the melodious tones of ecclesiastical Latin and Gregorian chant, not NewChurch blather about "not judging" and "dialoguing with our separated brethren."
