    It is sad, actually.

In the Minor Basilica of San José de Flores, in the city of Buenos Aires, a large statue of Saint Pius X was "re-dedicated" on May 1, 2011, by the Rector, with the blessing of the Apostolic Nuncio in Argentina, Abp. Adriano Bernardini: actually, the old statue of Saint Pius X had a new "mask" applied and was completely (and not very elegantly) repainted and is now the image of the newly beatified pope. And they thought nobody would notice it...

Behold Saint Blessed John Pius Paul X & II - made in Italy, remade in Argentina.

Now, this is not extraordinary. This is ordinary.

[Source and other pictures: Página Católica. By the way, they believe that the Nuncio was conned, too.]

  • This is actually quite becoming for the memory of a man who has disfigured Holy Mother Church with doctrinal, liturgical and [the tacit abetting of] moral aberrations.

The holy memory of Pope St. Pius X has been desecrated, but the City of Rome and Holy Church whereupon he gloriously reigned has been completely ravaged, so that we can say with the Prophet Jeremias, How doth the City full of people  sit solitary: how is the Lady of the Gentiles become as a widow: the Princess of provinces is made tributary? The enemy hath thrust his hand to all her things worthy to be desired: because she hath seen the Gentiles enter into her sanctuary, of whom thou gavest commandment that they should not enter into thy Church (Lam. ch. i., 1, 10).

The likeness of the holy Pontiff suffers together with Rome and Holy Church such atrocious indignities.
Please ignore all that I have written regarding sedevacantism.

  • Why did they transform a statue of Pius X into a likeness of the character actor Henry Gibson?  Is someone out there a fan of Robert Altman films?

These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • Sad that these fools like JPII better than Pius X. Although really, why do you think these modernists never mention Pius X? Because he spoke out against modernism, and to praise him for doing so would be to give themselves away!

  • I wonder what St. Pius X would have thought of this humanist? He probably would have kicked him out. What an insult! From a holy statue to a humanist statue!

  • Oh also, shouldn't they have lifted his arms above his head to show him applauding himself and those applauding him?

  • Don't worry, it doesn't look like JPII.  No one will figure out who it is and they'll just assume it's a saint they don't know.

  • Maybe they'll wonder "Why is Jimmy Carter dressed like a Pope?"
