    That horrible crime, on account of which corrupt and obscene cities were destroyed by fire through divine condemnation, causes us most bitter sorrow and shocks our mind, impelling us to repress such a crime with the greatest possible zeal.
    Quite opportunely the Fifth Lateran Council [1512-1517] issued this decree: "Let any member of the clergy caught in that vice against nature, given that the wrath of God falls over the sons of perfidy, be removed from the clerical order or forced to do penance in a monastery" (chap. 4, X, V, 31).
    So that the contagion of such a grave offense may not advance with greater audacity by taking advantage of impunity, which is the greatest incitement to sin, and so as to more severely punish the clerics who are guilty of this nefarious crime and who are not frightened by the death of their souls, we determine that they should be handed over to the severity of the secular authority, which enforces civil law.
    Therefore, wishing to pursue with greater rigor than we have exerted since the beginning of our pontificate, we establish that any priest or member of the clergy, either secular or regular, who commits such an execrable crime, by force of the present law be deprived of every clerical privilege, of every post, dignity and ecclesiastical benefit, and having been degraded by an ecclesiastical judge, let him be immediately delivered to the secular authority to be put to death, as mandated by law as the fitting punishment for laymen who have sunk into this abyss.

    My favorite Pope.
    "I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. If I have ever expressed myself erroneously on this Sacrament, I submit to the judgement of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience of which I now part from this world." • St. Pius V, pray for us!

    Belli tumultus ingruit

    Wars and tumults fill the earth;
    Men the fear of God despise;
    Retribution, vengeance, wrath,
    Brood upon the angry skies.

    Holy Pius! Pope sublime!
    Whom, in this most evil time
    Whom, of saints in bliss, can we
    Better call to aid than thee?

    None more mightily than thou
    Hath, by holy deed or word,
    Through the spacious earth below
    Spread the glory of the Lord.

    Holy Pius! Pope sublime!
    Whom, in this most evil time
    Whom, of saints in bliss, can we
    Better call to aid than thee?

    Thine it was, O pontiff brave!
    Pontiff of eternal Rome!
    From barbaric yoke to save
    Terror-stricken Christendom.

    Holy Pius! Pope sublime!
    Whom, in this most evil time
    Whom, of saints in bliss, can we
    Better call to aid than thee?

    When Lepanto's gulf beheld,
    Strewn upon its waters fair,
    Turkey's countless navy yield
    To the power of thy prayer:

    Holy Pius! Pope sublime!
    Whom, in this most evil time
    Whom, of saints in bliss, can we
    Better call to aid than thee?

    Who meanwhile with prophet's eye
    Didst the distant battle see,
    And announce to standers-by
    That same moment's victory.

    Holy Pius! Pope sublime!
    Whom, in this most evil time
    Whom, of saints in bliss, can we
    Better call to aid than thee?

    Mightier now and glorified,
    Hear the suppliant cry we pour;
    Crush rebellions haughty pride;
    Quell the din of rising war.

    Holy Pius! Pope sublime!
    Whom, in this most evil time
    Whom, of saints in bliss, can we
    Better call to aid than thee?

    At thy prayer may golden peace
    Down to earth descend again:
    License, discord, trouble cease;
    Justice, truth and order reign.

    Holy Pius! Pope sublime!
    Whom, in this most evil time
    Whom, of saints in bliss, can we
    Better call to aid than thee?

    To the Lord of endless days,
    One Almighty Trinity,
    Sempiternal glory, praise,
    Honour, might, and blessing be.

    Holy Pius! Pope sublime!
    Whom, in this most evil time
    Whom, of saints in bliss, can we
    Better call to aid than thee?

    V. Pray for us, blessed Pius.
    R. That we may be made worthy of the promises

    Let us pray:

    God, Who, to the destruction of the enemies of thy Church and for the restoration of Thy holy worship didst vouchsafe to elect blessed Pius to be thy High Priest; grant us so to be defended by his protection, and so to remain steadfast in Thy service, that, overcoming the snares of all our enemies, we may enjoy perpetual peace. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

    (Indulgence 40 Days, once a day. ii. Plenary from First Vespers till sunset on the Feast, May 5, if said before an altar or relic of the Saint, or in a Dominican church. I, II, IV.)
    If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • A true saint and great scourge of all that is vile. The Lepanto hymn is beautiful -- great that Saint, we need his prayers in this vile age of Jєωry and Masonry when all is rotting and foul.

  • If applied today, I would say that 80% of the bishops would be defrocked. Among priests 25% or more. Why so many bishops? Because it is the sodomites that get the promotions.

    P.S.- I have serious doubts as to whether any Novus Ordo cleric is a valid priest or bishop, so, they may have already been in a way "defrocked" by God.

  • Very interesting.

    It seems to me that such language is sorely wanting in today's active lexicon.

    Quote from: Matthew

    St. Pius V

    That horrible crime, on account of which corrupt and obscene cities were destroyed by fire through divine condemnation [cf. Gn 19:24], causes us most bitter sorrow and shocks our mind, impelling us to repress such a crime with the greatest possible zeal.

    Words worth memorizing, methinks...

    -------------Come to think of it, whoever is worried that floods could overrun civilization on earth ought to recall that God promised (after Noah's ark) with His rainbow to never again destroy the world by flood.  But he ought also to keep in mind that He has never made any such promise (cf. Gn 19:24) in regards to fire (or burning sulfur).

    Quote

    Quite opportunely

    Today's Novus Ordo types would query, "Are you sure you didn't mean quite regrettably, or quite unfortunately???

    Gasp!  I'm shocked!  You should be ASHAMED of yourself for uttering such harsh, insensitive, malevolent, abusive and disrespectful words!!!  (................NOT!)

    So that the contagion[!] of such a grave offense[!] may not advance with greater audacity[!] by taking advantage of impunity[!], which is the greatest incitement to sin, and so as to more severely punish the clerics who are guilty of this nefarious[!] crime and who are not frightened by the death of their souls [Whaaa?!], we determine that they should be handed over to the severity of the secular authority, which enforces civil law.

    When was the last time the Church handed over an abysmally corrupt deviant to the severity of the secular authority?  Wait -- the secular authority isn't severe any more.............. never mind.  :facepalm:

    Okay, all stop.  This is the penalty that has been exclusively applied to priests these days who insist on hanging on to Sacred Tradition, such as by being unwilling to distribute Communion in the hand, or by preferring to have an obscure wall between himself and his penitents, or by continuing to say the Mass in its Extraordinary Form!  Are not today's most diligent and fortitudinous priests the ones who are punished by being deprived of every clerical privilege, of every post, dignity and ecclesiastical benefit.........  :furtive:

    PUT TO DEATH??!!

    I'm telling you, this is a great quote --- in whole and in part, it ought to be memorized by every well-intentioned Catholic who wants even some chance of being capable of finding the right words for a given occasion.

    I must admit, that it was not too long ago that I was in a group of friends when one of them mentioned to another that a particular choir member (let's call him Jared) was going to lead the congregation in a hymn for a special occasion.  This person speaking was personally impressed with Jared for whatever reason I can't begin to imagine, and was attempting to garner interest from the other person in our group, but was unsuccessful.  Knowing that Jared is a physical male who chooses to identify as a woman, I ventured to interject a comment at that time.

    I said, "She probably isn't interested in what Jared is doing because she doesn't appreciate the fact that Jared is a fag, and he - she - or should I say "it" -- doesn't have any place in the liturgy of any respectable religious community, let alone as it were a Catholic one."

    The person who had spoken turned to me and began to unleash a diatribe of invective that would give anyone the impression that this person is some kind of gαy activist or whatever.  I took it in stride at the time.

    However, looking back, had I already memorized a few lines from the great St. Pius V, I no doubt could have returned the favor in much more mellow and subdued tones than those by which I had been burdened at this time.
