SSPX to require approval from Novus ordo for marriages

  • Just received this from someone who attends the SSPX, which is in regard to a decree from Rome, approved by Pope Francis, stating that SSPX clergy must now get approval from the Novus ordo Bishop to give the sacrament of marriage. With the SSPX and Novus ordo reuniting, such a decision is expected so as to unify them. Though interestingly, even though there is nothing wrong with the request itself, an SSPX priest here in the US just announced to the children in his school that his plan is to IGNORE the decree. This is the exact definition of SCHISM; to refuse to submit to the authority of someone they believe is the Pope. And people wonder why most sedevacantists avoid the SSPX!? The Church NEVER permits schism under any circuмstance, nevermind under a basic circuмstance such as this.

  • Not in this case, not as long as there is a Crisis in the Church. This SSPX priests knows if he obeys this new demand he would be implying that he did not have supplied jurisdiction.

That is absolute nonsense. What Catholic reference says schism is okay when there is a crisis? Rather, take a look at the article in the CE on Schism at the link below and scroll down to the section labeled, "Attempts to legitimize schism", and you will see it clearly says the Church does not provide a single exception for permitting schism. Either Francis is Pope and we obey him entirely, or he is not Pope and is to be ignored.

The SSPX used to say they had a duty to disobey when they saw ERROR, now they disobey even when given basic instructions that have nothing to do with error. They've been acting schismatically for so long they don't even realize it anymore.
