This is absolutely incorrect. The New Mass is still the Body and Blood of Christ, therefore it is a SACRIFICE OF BLOOD! It is not a mere grain or wheat offering. Also, the issue with Cain is he had Lambs but refused to offer them. The New Mass still offers the Lamb of God.

Again, the issue is Cain had Lambs BUT REFUSED TO OFFER A LAMB. The New Mass offers the Lamb of God, His Body and Blood. False analogy! God has vindicated the New Mass by His Eucharistic Miracles. "apostates of novus ordo" - you have succuмbed to Schismatic Sedevacantism, or Heretical Wathenism. Please repent of and retract those errors, and return to the Roman Catholic Church. If in fact the Roman Catholic Church taught "aposta[sy]" today, please cite some paras from the New Catechism that encourage "apostasy".

And I wouldn't want to be standing in your shoes. The Offertory is before the Consecration, and thus, before Transubstantation, correctly refers to the Gifts as Bread and Wine, as even the TLM and Roman Canon does in places. After the Consecration, when Transubstantation occurs, they are no longer bread and wine, but rather Body and Blood.

The Roman Canon, when used in the NO, still comes after the offertory. The identification with Cain's sacrifice, the mark of the beast offertory, remains.

Sometimes the TLM refers to "bread," but only the "holy" or "heavenly" bread, Christ, who called Himself the "bread from heaven." Or it mentions "bread" as mentioned in the Our Father.

It nowhere conflates Christ with the mere "fruit of the earth," the neon light that lights up the NO as Cain's sacrifice.

To what ends will you go with your shovel?

Thanks DR, good post

Do you have any thoughts on the Mass of St. Joseph the Worker (May 1st)? PPXII added it to the calendar in 1956. Possibly the first reference to "work of our hands" in any Mass?

Gradual (Ps. 127:1-2):

Blessed are all they that fear the Lord, that walk in His ways. Thou shalt eat the labors of thy hands; it shall be well with thee.

Offertory (Ps. 89:17):

And let the brightness of the Lord our God be upon us: and direct thou the works of our hands over us; yea, the work of our hands do thou direct.

Secret:

From the work of our hands we offer sacrifice to thee, O Lord, through the mediation of Saint Joseph may it be a pledge for us of union and peace.

Worlds Away,

Hi, I was on vacation and only posting and reading spottingly.

I would note that the Offertory from the Ordinary is retained. What you call the Offertory is the Antiphon, and also not offensive in itself. Neither is the Gradual. Our hands do work, and we eat of them for bodily nourishment, so asking for the Lord's direction in that sense I don't see as an issue.

The Secret is more troubling. As has been noted, the changes in the 50s were a stepping stone to the NO. We see that plainly in the Secret.

But when God parses and divides, He does so with power and clarity. The NO explicitly offers the "fruit of the earth," and removes the traditional offertory of Christ. The Mass of St. Joseph the Worker offers God the "spotless host" (the Offering of the Ordinary), and does not do what the NO does. It still offers the true sacrifice.
