It seems to me that Cardinal Wuerl is bodly enforcing the spirit of his faith and following the example of his superior in his religion.

Since when is a non-Catholic refused communion in the Conciliar Church?  The fact that she is a lesbian Buddhist should be an ecuмenical plus.

Later that day, tt the Vatican control room....:

Americans: "Yes! Cardinal Wuerl, scored a 100 pointer! Nice!"
Germans: "Schise!"
Italians: "No no, we will make a comeback! Get me Benedict on the phone!"
Germans: "Vait a sch-minute!! He is a German, Ja?! We schould get ze points!"

Ed Peters' assessment is a classic example of the display of the superficiality of novus ordo commentators.  He attempts to demonstrate his knowledge of law and its application by being a trite contrarian who misses the essence of the subject-matter he is dealing with.  They always seem to end up on the wrong side of the argument.  Maybe this is due to a perverse need to appease superiors.  Scriptor, on the other hand, easily dispels his obfuscation, albeit in a very timid manner.
