The trouble with the SSPV is that they have usurped the power of the hierarchy in binding Catholics to their private determinations.
Their act of usurpation and schism begs for justice. They have resisted all efforts at correction.
- What you state may be true. I am unfamiliar with the +Thuc arguments either way. In particular, if scandal and misunderstandings were caused due to SSPV being dogmatic to their parishoners on this issue.
- However, I've downloaded several of their videos for they are short and I can listen to them on my I-phone. In particular, their 'SJB' and 'Thérèse of Lisieux' were just what I needed to add subtle adjustments in how I perceive situational adversities... to creatively find ways, when applicable, to embrace the cross with first detachment- then aiming for inner peace and happiness (they were so advanced in the 'science of the saints' that they were into doing it with joy to the point where they were not 'frozen' but active and getting a lot done).
- Even here on this board, I have taken insights and points of views from posters that I have incorporated in my understanding of the Faith -- that quite frankly, I would have repugnance to be with in any close proximity (that is, from the limited virtual reality of cyberspace).
- My point is that in this day of so much great confusion, trickery and fanaticism that one must know their own foibles. And if you are not scandalized by their dogmatic issues with +Thuc (which I'm not), then another interpretation would be to examine everything they say and retain what is good. Which is the approach I'm taking. I realize this may not be for everyone.
