  • Watch the slide presentation and listen in a different window re: Validity of the Thuc consecrations. Have SSPV ever responded to this?

I can't remember if there has been a satisfactory explanation as to why they waited until Bp. Mendez died to announce the cosecration of Bp. Kelly and ordinations of Frs. Greenwell and Baumberger.

The Bp. Mendez story is a Pandora's Box, depending upon whom one trusts.

Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • I found this with a search

    Mario Derksen
Mario Derksen is a young Catholic writer whose enthusiasm and insight has inspired Catholics everywhere. He manages his own website - www.cathinsight.com, which was developed out of a need to respond to the anti-Catholic bashing and misinformation circulating on the net about what Catholicism truly is.
He was born in Germany on April 16, 1979, baptized and raised Catholic. Despite being 25, he ran the gamut of experiences as a teen-ager. Around 1994, because of the post-conciliar reforms and a lack of thorough catechesis by the Church, he found it easy to lapse into a Protestant mindset. An early pioneer of the internet, Mario challenged many Catholic beliefs, embracing "non-denominational Christianity" and preaching the same on the PRODIGY bulletin boards in the spirit of a Protestant fundamentalist. When he himself was challenged by Catholics who knew how to defend their faith, he ended up reading Karl Keating's "Catholicism and Fundamentalism," which helped bring him back to the Church, albeit, as he admits, a "neo-Catholic sort." Nevertheless it was a step in the right direction. A year later, in February 1997, frustrated with so much anti-Catholic garbage on the net, he relates, "I decided to do my own responses since someone needed to do it and nobody was doing it." Thus "Catholic Insight" was created. After graduating from High School in May 1997, he attended St. John Vianney College, the archdiocesan seminary in Miami.

About autumn of 1998 he became convinced that the only way to keep the Faith was as a traditional Catholic after realizing the conflicts between the Mass of St. Pius V and the Mass of Paul VI, and how much had been compromised for the sake of modernism, ecuмenism and humanism. The more he read about the differences between the pre-Vatican II faith and what passes as "contemporary Catholicism," the more he realized continuing on the diocesan course was not the right path. After two years in the seminary, he finished his studies at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton with a B.A. in Philosophy.

He then pursued studies for a Master's Degree in philosophy, first at the University of Miami, but the non-Catholic secular atmosphere and emphasis on analytical philosophy was displeasing to him and so he enrolled in a different M.A. graduate program, from which - we are proud to announce - he obtained his Master of Arts degree cuм laude in Philosophy in May 2004.

This dedicated German-born Catholic officially became a United States citizen on July 20, 2001 As much as he cherishes that, he cherishes his membership in the Roman Catholic Church much more, and realizes the need as a member of the Church Militant, to fight to retain the rights, privileges and duties every Catholic must have. If they are unaware of these responsibilities, Mario is only too happy to share them in informing all Catholics of what the Church truly teaches. You can see more of Mario's writings at his www.cathinsight.com website or e-mail him at mario.dailycatholic@spamslicer.com

So many of the post-conciliar bishops today refer to those clinging to the true Roman Catholic traditions that were in vogue for 2000 years prior to the reforms of Vatican II as 'fossils,' 'dinosaurs,' 'old folks who will die off soon.' We beg to differ and offer as proof the youthful interest and enthusiasm of the younger generation in the Traditional Insights of Mario Derksen who exemplifies the thinking of many more young men and women today who realize the new thinking of the post-conciliar church does not add up to true Catholic teaching. Thus they long for those traditions so tried and true. His insight shows great promise, optimism and hope for the future of Holy Mother Church.

I believe Mario would describe himself as a seeker of Catholic truth, as a soul not so much affiliated with a group.  For a time, he assisted at SSPV masses in Norwood, Ohio; later he migrated to SGG.  I've no idea if he is still there or at St. Albert's.

Bp. Kelly has kept public silence in the face of controversy for many years now.  I met him briefly at Bp. Santay's Consecration at Oyster Bay.

I suspect the only reply from SSPV or the Congregation SSPV would be refusal of Communion if Mario went to one of their mass centers.

The WFTS Radio Workshop For the Soul(an SSPV internet radio outlet) archives used to have a number of sermons and talks by Fr. Jenkins and Bp. Santay strongly against Abp. Thuc--have not checked them out for ages, but they were replayed often a few years back.

Bp. Kelly wrote a book. He was a creator of the controversy. That's about as public as one can get.

None of us should be affiliated with a group, other than general support for the Mass Center. Those who become so attached to "the group" that they can't hear of anything critical of "the group" are the largest problem in the entire trad resistance.
It would be comparatively easy for us to be holy if only we could always see the character of our neighbours either in soft shade or with the kindly deceits of moonlight upon them. Of course, we are not to grow blind to evil

  • Bp. Kelly is truly loved by his many Daughters of Mary.  He has been a bit of a recluse for years now, and suffered chronic health issues.

Yes, I've heard that. The fact is that he did write and publish a book.

But I forgot about the 50 million dollar lawsuit he and the Daughters of Mary have been involved in.

A Sister noticed that they had an original painting by William Adolphe Bouguereau, a fabulously beautiful "Our Lady of the Angels".

They felt ripped off when they sold it to someone who then flipped it for 5 million dollars.

There has been a lot of publicity about this interesting chapter in the intrigue which surrounds SSPV.

I am not sure if a settlement has been reached but there have been lots of articles published because the players are so unique and the painting is so valuable; also there is so much greed and betrayal involved.
